Pete Davidson‘s inner circle is shrinking amid his mental health battle. The comedian has been vocal about his struggles, often checking in and out of rehab for his sanity. However, it seems his instability is causing his Hollywood friends to keep some distance.
According to sources, Davidson and fellow comedian Colin Jost are no longer on speaking terms after ten years of friendship. Things have reportedly gotten so bad that Jost can’t bear to be in the same room with his former Saturday Night Live cast member. “Pete and Colin can’t be in 30 Rock together,” the insider claimed to The Sun. The source further added:
“Something big happened and Colin is now refusing to be in the same building, let alone the same room as Pete. Colin doesn’t want to be associated with Pete.”
While the cause of the rift is unknown, Jost and Davidson’s business venture might be affected by their ongoing feud. Recall that the friends purchased the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry together in 2022 for $280,000. For the vessel’s first fete during the New York Fashion Week, Davidson was nowhere to be seen. In July, the Bupkis star checked into rehab again, “taking some time” to focus on his mental health.
Colin Jost Slammed Decision To Buy Ferry With Pete Davidson
The report of a strained friendship comes weeks after the Weekend Update host publicly bashed his decision to spend huge bucks on the ferry. Jost, in an interview with People Magazine, said the purchase was not his smartest decision.
“It is absolutely the dumbest and least thought-through purchase I’ve ever made in my life.”
He continued, “The way I justified it is for the amount of money we were putting into buying it, on just a basic square-footage level, is if you found the right place for it to be, you were essentially buying a building on its side that’s 65,000 square feet.” Jost, however, didn’t speak to the state of his friendship with Davidson. It is unfortunate that Davidson is losing his community at such a difficult time.
