The culmination of the entire Marvel universe is upon us.  Well, it’s coming soon at the very least. Avengers: Infinity War is currently in production, with a May 4, 2018, release date pinned to it. The Russo Brothers, the team behind the past two Captain America films, will be taking the wheel in this installment of our favorite superhero friends. The brothers have recently tweeted an image from the set, showing off a cool piece from the set.

The image appears to be a vault, but it could also be a tool crafted by Mr. Stark himself to fend off Thanos. Most likely it’s the vault that Thanos uses to keep the infamous Infinity Gauntlet. We don’t know for sure yet what the image could actually be, as there’s no caption or description along with it to give us any information. Being a movie almost 10 years in the making, I can see why The Russo Brothers are being so mysterious about it.

Although the movie is full of mystery at this point, there are some elements that fans have the privilege of knowing. For example, before this image was released, there was a short video released in February that went behind the scenes of the film to explore the nature of the Infinity Stones, go head to head with some of the film’s main characters’ actors and the directors themselves, and to give fans a look at some of the sets. Take a look at the video here.

Another fact of the movie given to us by the head of Marvel himself, Kevin Feige, is that Thanos will be the main character (love him or hate him, we’re all stuck with him): “In a movie that has a lot of characters, you could almost go so far as to say he is the main character. That’s a bit of a departure from what we’ve done before, but that was appropriate for a movie called Infinity War,” he said. This deviation from the norm of making the superhero the main character makes sense, as it’ll feed us all the information we’ve been dying to find out about Thanos as the two movies progress. Thanos is the ultimate bad guy, so fans can expect Avengers: Infinity War to be a bit darker than its predecessors. Especially if it ends anyway like it does in the comics (if you don’t know then don’t go looking it up; the surprise is worth it). Part 1 hits theaters on May 4, 2018; the untitled fourth Avengers film comes May 3, 2019.

Most of the time he spends writing, reading (anything from comics to classic literature), playing video games, and wondering when the next Elder Scrolls title will be released. Hopefully soon...
