LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are one of Hollywood’s cutest celebrity couples. The country music singer and the actor seem like an odd match, but they’re still going strong after 13 years of marriage. However, their relationship came under scrutiny in 2009 when it was revealed they were having an affair. The two were filming the Lifetime movie Northing Lights when they began fooling around. After tabloids exposed their affair, Cibrian’s wife Brandi Glanville filed for divorce, and Rimes split with her husband Dean Sheremet.
Two years after the scandal, Rimes and Cibrian wed in April 2011. Although the couple faced constant criticism and media attention, they ignored it. While the public scrutiny was hard, Rimes doesn’t regret falling in love with Eddie.
In a new interview with The Sun, the Blue singer says the affair was worth it.
For sure [it was worth it]. Obviously there was purpose [to how they got together]. We have a great life.
LeAnn Rimes Made Amends With Eddie Cibrian’s Ex-Wife Brandi Glanville
When Rimes and Cibrian married, she became stepmother to his sons Mason and Jake. However, the new family dynamic was marred by several difficulties, including media scrutiny and fighting with Glanville.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star took potshots against her ex-husband and his new wife. Glanville criticized Rimes’ parenting skills, then claimed her and Cibrian’s marriage wouldn’t last.
After nearly a decade of feuding, the trio appeared to bury the hatchet in 2018. Since then Rimes, Cibrian, and Glanville have been photographed celebrating holidays and other family milestones together.
When reflecting on the change in their family dynamic, Rimes told The Sun, “It takes a long time.”
The kids were two and six when I first met them. They were young and it took a good three or four years to settle into things. And then, when people stopped writing crazy s*** about us, it was finally like we could just live quietly.
It took a while, but the paparazzi attention died down, something the family is happy about.
People aren’t following us all the time any more. It’s been a really long time, but it also feels like yesterday at the same time. But I think we have earned it.
With peace made with Glanville and the kids happy, things are going smoothly for LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian. The couple has come a long way since their controversial beginnings in 2009.
