Mercedes “MJ” Javid was one of the breakout stars from Season 2 of The Traitors. The former Shahs of Sunset cast member survived banishment after banishment and made it to the finale. There, she was about to have her share of more than $200,000; however, things took a dramatic turn.
When the remaining Faithful players, CT Tamburello and Trishelle Canatella, were tasked with ending the game or banishing again, they chose the latter. Their move left MJ stunned, which was revealed on the show as she struggled to write a final name. Because three players remained, there had to be a majority rules vote. Initially, the vote was 1-1-1, with each person voting for someone different. However, CT, who got his start on MTV with Trishelle, urged her to vote carefully their second time around.
Eventually, the two of them voted to banish MJ, which meant she was the last Faithful to be axed from the game. At the reunion, MJ slammed CT and Trishelle for betraying her. Based on her comments, it seemed like they would never find peace. However, after some time away, MJ had a change of heart.
MJ Is Cool With Some of Her Co-Stars
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, MJ revealed that she had officially forgiven Trishelle for blindsiding her. However, she didn’t seem interested in making amends with CT.
“CT, I feel like he just does competition shows,” she said, referring to his many seasons on The Challenge. “I don’t think he does relationships outside of the gaming situation. So I don’t really lose a lot of sleep on that.”
But for Trishelle, MJ felt differently.
“Trishelle, I harbor no ill will because she’s a woman, and she wanted to end the game with me,” she said.
Will MJ Javid Ever Join Another Game Show?
Later, during her chat, MJ said she was “excited” to possibly join another competition series. However, this time, she knows what to expect. “I won’t be far,” she joked. “I’ve heard rumblings about Big Brother; I think that would be really fun. And being a mom, I wouldn’t have to be gone for that long.”
As she looked back on her time in Scotland on The Traitors, MJ said she couldn’t “believe” how she pulled it off. “It was a combination of psychological and physical challenge, separating yourself from what’s going on at home and not communicating. It was intense.”
Season 3 of The Traitors will air on Peacock in the coming months. The cast will feature several Real Housewives stars, along with celebrities, models, and actors.
