Janice Dickinson and Omarosa were the talk of the town during Season 5 of The Surreal Life in 2005. Back then, the former America’s Next Top Model and Apprentice stars were at odds while filming the show. To the average viewer, it seemed like another case of roommates simply bumping heads. However, according to Janice’s latest revelation, it may have been because someone was jealous.
Janice and Omarosa Did Not Get Along on The Surreal Life
In a sneak peek of the new series The Dark Side of Reality TV, obtained by Us Weekly, Janice Dickinson described what happened between her and Omarosa.
“It’s important for me to maintain a level of what I look like on TV because that is my bread and butter,” the personality shared. “So I had that written into the contract that they were supposed to help me out with hair and makeup.”
According to Janice, having a professional glam squad on set “disturbed” some of her co-stars, including The Big O.
“I remember Omarosa was very jealous.”
Omarosa, who some regard as reality TV royalty, remembered their feud differently. In a confessional interview, she mentioned that Janice “was the only person” who could have hair and makeup on set. After producers realized Omarosa was frustrated with the situation, they decided it would be the perfect story to draw viewers in.
“It was worked into the show that my hair and makeup glam team was going to get underneath Omarosa’s skin,” Janice added. “I remember her sitting down in my seat, and she said, ‘I will be next.’ And I said, ‘No, you are not going to be next. These hair and makeup here are for me, so get up.’”
Dickson’s feud with Omarosa was quite explosive during the season. Throughout the episodes, Omarosa hurled outlandish insults at Janice, accusing her of using drugs and being a “horrible mother,” causing Janice to leave the show early. The series went on a hiatus after Season 6 aired in 2006.
In 2021, VH1 revived The Surreal Life with celebrities like Dennis Rodman, Frankie Muniz, and Tamar Braxton. The latest season, which featured Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kim Zolciak, premiered in July 2024.
