Are they kids? Or are they squids? This is just one of the questions that might be answered in the first ever Art of Splatoon book. This must have for fans of Nintendo’s squid-shooter will not only include concept art for multiple characters, designs for squid kids, bust, best of all, comics that will divulge the lore and personalities of the kids in the Splatoon world, Inkopolis.

The Art of Splatoon is being published by Dark Horse Comics, the publisher behind Hellboy, Sin City, and Overwatch. The book will be available for purchase on July 11, for $39.99 from various retailers such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble. The art books are releasing just in time for the release of Splatoon 2 which is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on July 21.

Art of Splatoon

The original Splatoon took the gaming community by storm back in May of 2015 when it introduced squid kids to the world. This colorful, arena shooter quickly gained fans from all over the world. There have even been rumors of Nintendo trying to bring Splatoon to the eSports world with its newest game, Splatoon 2, which is set to release later this month on the Nintendo Switch.

Here’s the Amazon description is just as perfect as the art book itself:
