The Royal Family ‘Are Not Statesmen,’ Just ‘Ceremonial Figures,’ and ‘Undignified’ Prince Harry Is Nothing but a ‘Royal Jester’ for American Talk Shows

What is Harry trying to prove?

Many following The Royal Family, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, might have second thoughts on whether members of The Royal Family are statesmen or stateswomen. According to royal expert Richard Kay of the Daily Mail, “They are not statesmen; they are ceremonial figures — that’s all they are. And with Prince Harry treading a “very difficult line between celebrity and royalty,” he “is still desperately searching for some kind of role” of significance.

In an episode of Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential, Kay goes on to state that Prince Harry is intentionally playing the role of “royal jester or joker” whenever he goes on American talk shows. Royal journalist Richard Eden believes the Duke of Sussex’s endeavors at “light entertainment,” such as the recent Haunted Maze episode with Jimmy Fallon, are absolutely “cringe-making.”

The Royal Family Should Quit Attempting To Do Light Entertainment

“The Royal Family should just not do light entertainment. It never really ends well. We’ve seen Harry before with James Gordon. That was cringe-making.”

“Why is Prince Harry on Jimmy Falon? Usually, you go on these shows when you got something specific to promote, but it seems he is just desperate to promote himself and Meghan and try to establish himself as a celebrity in America. It’s very undignified.”

Richard Eden, Daily Mail

During the same Palace Confidential panel, Richard Kay reminisces about the Grand Knockout tournament Prince Edward organized back in 1987:

“The only takeout from it was that it was a complete and absolute disaster and personal disaster for Prince Edward and the reputation of the wider Royal Family because it sort of trivialized them to a degree they hadn’t been. They hadn’t been trivialized to that extent. It was the ultimate example of where the Family was heading.”

Likewise, Prince Harry might not be an official royal since his departure from The Royal Family with Megxit. However, his and Meghan Markle’s attempts to act as if they have an American audience who sees them as lively A-Lister celebs is “excruciating” embarrassing, not only to them but to The Royal Family as well, based on Kay’s comments of past events.
