The Jungle Getaway update brought one of the best features of all Disney Dreamlight Valley that no one expected but shocked everyone. No, I don’t mean the appearance of Timon and Pumbaa or the rock concert-themed Star Path. Disney Dreamlight Valley added the ability to fly all over your valley with wings. So, as soon as I downloaded the update, I ran to figure out how to become a fairy like Tinker Bell and to go faster from place to place. However, it took me longer than I thought to figure out how to use my wings.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Wings and Gliders
You might think that equipping your wings is very simple, but in reality, it can be a confusing step. In Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are two different sections to equip your wings; the one you must use to fly is from your Wardrobe in the Gliders option. Also, using the Gliders section, several wings will have an animation. The other option is also in your Wardrobe, but if you use the Back option, it will only equip the wings, which will not work for flying. This distinction may be because the Back menu used to be only for equipping items like backpacks, but with the updates, it has become a confusing option for wings.
How to Get the Golden Energy
Once you have correctly equipped your wings from Gliders, you are not ready to fly yet. First, you must get your Energy bar converted to Golden Energy. Fortunately, you only need to have your Energy bar full and eat more, not just any ingredients; it must be a dish no matter how many stars it has. You will instantly see your Energy bar turn Golden with a slight shimmering effect. To fly in Disney Dreamlight Valley, each platform has a different button, but these are all the options:
- PC – Hold Shift
- Nintendo Switch – Hold the A button
- Xbox – Hold the B button
- PlayStation – Hold the Square button
As you fly, you will see how your Golden Energy will consume, and when the boost is depleted, you will see how it returns to its original blue color. To recharge it, you just have to eat another dish to keep fluttering your wings and show it off to all your neighbors.
You can use all the wings to fly, even the Cardboard Wings or Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Wings. However, only some are animated while flying, especially the medium and small ones like the Tinker Fairy Wings or the Small Pink Wings. Sadly, the larger pairs of wings, such as Maleficent Wings or Raven Wings, do not have any animation. Other wings change while flying; for example, the moth wings are placed lower, or the Rainbow Phoenix wings curve upwards and stay still while flying. Discover which wings have animation and the effects of each one as you show off your new ability to fly fast.
