However, in the latest episode of Gomez’s Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building, Selena and her co-stars gave a strange shoutout to the pop star and her NFL star boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Swifties were on it right away as they talked about how strange the shoutout was and how it could be seen as rude.
According to Page Six, Selena Gomez can be seen sitting on a couch next to a life-sized doll that looks a lot like a particular singer. With Blonde hair and red lipstick, the doll is the spitting image of Taylor Swift. However, that is not where this stops. The doll can also be seen wearing a jersey with the number 87 on it. Travis Kelce rocks number 87 for the Kansas City Chiefs. While this shoutout was innocent enough, some of Taylor’s fans thought, “This was creepy and weird.”

The Swifties then showed up in the post’s comment section to talk about the shoutout.
“This was kind of creepy and weird. I’m not sure Taylor would even approve. It probably wasn’t meant to be mean, but it could come across as rude,” said one fan.
“I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel about this,” wrote another.
One other fan asked, “Was she trying to give a cute shoutout or throw shade?“
It seems like it would be safe to say that Taylor’s fans, as well as fans of the show, are kind of confused about the whole situation.
However, it seems unlikely that this was supposed to be a diss in any way. Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are close friends. The two have even been seen hanging out together in public. Although things can change, was this a harmless shoutout or something deeper?
