Preacher returns this Monday night on AMC with the all new episode titled “Sokosha.” Due to some crazy work commitments, I missed my review for last week’s episode “Dallas” so I’ll briefly mention that here as well. I really feel like last week stumbled quite a bit in terms of pacing. “Dallas” was a very flashback heavy episode and while I did dig the backstory, it really seemed to drag on. I kept wondering when The Saint of Killers was going to show up and kick off an action sequence. As it turns out, he didn’t show up until the very end and the credits rolled. This week’s episode of Preacher certainly appears that things will pick up in terms of action and a confrontation with The Saint.
The official description for this episode mentions Jesse making a deal with The Saint of Killers. In the preview, Jesse, Cassidy, and Tulip are also heard talking about The Saint’s weakness and are later seen to have found some reading material as well. Given the power Jesse has, could he perhaps give The Saint of Killer his family back? After all…he was able to send a person to hell. This is the only way I could see any type of agreement between The Saint and Jesse. The preview photo above also shows Cassidy caring for a seemingly ill Dennis. Hopefully, we’ll get some backstory on just who Dennis is to Cassidy. It certainly seems like an odd pairing given that Cassidy doesn’t speak French and Dennis doesn’t seem to speak English.
