During the end game, you will need to prepare yourself for your final fight against Louis. Besides hunting bounties and completing side quests, you can also attempt to defeat three powerful dragons. They will drop valuable gear that can give you an edge during the final boss fight. At the top of the Tower of Insolence, you can face a dragon named Devourer of Stars in Metaphor: ReFantazio. This monster is extremely powerful, and you need to use the best strategy to have a chance of beating it.
How To Complete the Tower of Insolence in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Devourer of Stars is an end-game boss with Level 70 in Metaphor: ReFantazio. There are several mechanics that you need to pay attention to if you want to survive this encounter. Don’t expect to be able to Auto Battle this fight, or you will lose.
First of all, the dragon at the Tower of Insolence is completely immune to all attacks except for Almighty. If you attempt to hit it with regular attacks, it will backfire and return back to the caster. Don’t try to use repel magic since the dragon will use an insta-kill ability that you cannot dodge.
Several abilities can inflict Almighty attacks. The first one is Megido magic, which you can unlock from the Commander Liniage. Another ability you can use is the Royal Sword Synthesis Attack, which you can use with the Prince Archetype. Lastly, you can also use Gold Attack from the Merchant Lineage, but you need to throw away 500 gold with every use.
Devourer of Stars can also use Miasma Whorl, which is a debuff ability that limits your HP to 300. As if that isn’t bad enough, the dragon can also inflict various status effects like Hex and Poison. It can also use debuff magic that lowers all of your stats significantly.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Miasma Whorl | Limits your party’s HP to 300 and may inflict Hex. |
Great Dragon’s Wrath | Buffs Devourer of Stars’ Attack. |
Purple Toxiclaw | Single-target Slash attack that may inflict Poison. |
Loathsome Claw | Single-target Slash attack. |
Distant Black Howl | Party-wide roar that may inflict Hex. |
Roar | Debuffs all of your team members’ stats. |
Poison Tail | Party-wide Slash that may inflict Poison. |
Dekunda | Removes debuffs from itself. |
Best Team Comp To Beat Devourer of Stars
There are four Archetypes that you want to bring to beat Devourer of Stars:
- Prince – Protagonist
- Commander – Heismay
- Faker – Junah
- Healer – Eupha
The Prince Archetype is great because it can use the Royal Sword Synthesis Attack. If you have upgraded this class to Level 18, you can obtain a passive ability that lets you resist negative status effects. This Archetype also synergizes with all other classes, making it extremely useful.
The Commander Lineage is another class you want to have. First of all, it has Megido, so you can damage Devourer of Stars. This Archetype also lets you buff your team, which will be necessary during all the end-game boss fights.
The Faker Lineage is the opposite of Commander because they are debuffer. While the dragon can use Dekunda, you can force the monster to waste a turn by constantly applying debuffs.
The Healer is another important class. Since Devourer of Stars can inflict status effects, you need Me Patra to remove this ability. This class also has the skill to remove debuffs on your party, which you will need in this battle.
If you have extra EXP items, I recommend unlocking the Megido skill for all of your fighters. This will allow you to damage the boss consistently. Another viable method is by visiting Brigitta’s shop and buying the expensive accessories that let you use Almighty magic. You can also equip gear that enables you to resist Hex or Poison.
