Here comes the bride! Britney Spears says, ‘I do,’ at least that is what she is telling her fans this time. The singer showed up as usual on her Instagram page on Sunday with a major announcement on new marital bliss involving just her. Spears officially divorced her estranged husband and dancer Sam Asghari earlier in the year.
The “Womanizer” singer described getting married to herself as one of the best decisions she has taken in life. Spears looked every inch of a new bride in a long, white lace slip dress and veil in the clips. The post’s caption read:
“The day I married myself … Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done!!!”
However, the post is actually a throwback to December 2022, six months into her marriage to her former husband, Asghari. The union crashed a few months later when Asghari filed for divorce from the singer in August 2023.
Spears previously married her childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004 and famously annulled it 55 hours later. The pop star tried again with the father of her kids, Kevin Federline, in 2004 and called it quits in 2006.

Spears seemingly hopped off on a jet to celebrate her ‘honeymoon‘ in another upload since making the marriage post. She looked dashing in a mini white dress, knee-high boots combo, and dark sunglasses. The singer gave the fans a close-up look at her fit and accompanied the post with the caption, “!!! Turks and Caicos, here I come.”
Spears is known for her theatrics on social media, and they were allegedly responsible for Asghari leaving the marriage. As We reported back in May, Spears was the topic of various headlines surrounding her bizarre conduct. The actress reportedly chased Asghari down with an axe during one of their fights when she became uncontrollable.
“Sam is not a confrontational person, and he doesn’t like arguing. There was nothing he could do to calm her down this time,” explained an inside source. Spears also refused to address the axe rumors when she issued a statement on the divorce via Instagram. The singer stated:
“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business!!!”
