Just when you thought Diablo 4 didn’t have anything in store for the most thematic opportunity of the year, out comes its Halloween event. They call it Meat or Treat, and it’s set to be one of the most unique Halloween events in the game because of its novelty. There are also several bonus goodies along the way. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Diablo 4 Halloween event, which will take place from October 29 to November 5.
Free Halloween Cosmetics in the Shop
You don’t even have to participate in the actual Meat or Treat event. Simply logging in on the aforementioned dates is enough to reap the rewards for this Diablo 4 Halloween event, because Blizzard will be giving away free Halloween-themed cosmetics.
All you have to do is log-in on these dates and then go to the in-game Shop to claim them for free.
Date | Cosmetic |
October 29 | The Recluse’s Host Mount |
October 30 | Ichorflame Torch Mount Trophy |
October 31 | Recluse’s Flask Mount Trophy |
November 1 | Reclusive Trappings Mount Armor |
Unfortunately, the free Cosmetics stretch only runs for four days. Make sure to mark it on your calendars.
However, if you miss any of these, you can still claim them all in the Shop on November 5 at 12 PM (Pacific Time). Note that the Shop can get rather busy or might not load so you might want to try at different hours.
Meat or Treat Butcher Halloween Event in Diablo 4
The notorious Butcher is back to terrorize us all once again in the Meat or Treat Halloween event. This time around, The Butcher will lurk inside in-game Shrines, waiting for you to activate them so he can either ambush you or grant a reward.
All you have to do is activate any Shrine in-game for a chance to activate the additional effects from October 29 to November 5. Of course, there will be a special reward though that remains a surprise.
How to Farm Shrines in Diablo 4
To maximize your chance in meeting The Butcher in this limited Halloween event for Diablo 4, there are some strategies and farming tips you can follow. Try these out:
- Run The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons (they have the highest chance of spawning Shrines).
- Some maps have fewer Shrines than others. Leave and try out a new Nightmare Dungeon or The Pit run if you don’t see a Shrine after a few minutes.
- Some Nightmare Dungeons spawn extra Shrines, you can view their Sigil properties before running them.
- Make sure your class or build can actually take on The Butcher.
You want The Butcher to be your fresh meat, not the other way around.
