Olivia Munn is making breast cancer sexy. The actress proudly put her surgery scars on display in a new ad for Kim Kardashian‘s underwear brand, SKIMS. Munn first opened up about her scary breast cancer diagnosis in March. She underwent a double mastectomy and several aggressive surgeries to beat the disease. Now, she continues to use her story to inspire others.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SKIMS spotlighted Munn in the latest SKIMS campaign. The Ride Along 2 star was topless in images from the photo shoot, donning just pantyhose. She flaunted the mastectomy scar that ran along the side of her breast. In a post, Munn explained that it wasn’t always the plan to show off the surgery mark.
“In the middle of this latest @SKIMS bra campaign shoot, I decided I was done being insecure about my mastectomy scars. Every mark life has left behind on my body is proof of how hard I fought.”
The 44-year-old added that she hopes her gesture inspires other women who are “self-conscious” about their scars to “feel all the love.” Thanks to Munn’s collaboration with SKIMS, 10% of retail sales of bras sold between now and October 31 will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation — a breast cancer non-profit.
Olivia Munn Hailed For ‘Always Keeping It So Real’
Olivia Munn’s brave campaign was well-received by fans, who praised her for such a poignant message. “And from women everywhere, thank you! And thank you for always keeping it so real,” gushed one follower. Another wrote, “You are beauty, grace, residence, vulnerability, and strength. Prayers for a healing journey for you and your sweet babies.” A third comment read:
“Always a cool girl, but this is next level. Cheers to your bravery. Truly impressive.”
The Attack of the Show host told SKIMS about how she began to view her body differently after undergoing breast cancer surgery. “When I look at the scars or how my breasts look different or how clothes fit on me differently, I just feel a lot of gratitude,” she said while fighting tears.
