Things aren’t looking good for Lisa Vanderpump and her future on Vanderpump Rules (VPR). Thanks to Scandoval, the show had a shocking 11th season, and now, everyone is at a standstill. Bravo and Pump Rules‘ production company are toying with ways to move the show forward. Do they axe some of the series’ biggest stars? Or do they bring them together for a final season?
According to The US Sun, the network has considered firing Lisa Vanderpump despite the series being built around her Los Angeles restaurants. A source told the publication that Bravo “has been trying to push” the matriarch “out of the show.” They referenced her paycheck, which is surely larger than everyone else’s, as the main reason. The source also called out her “relevancy,” saying the cast has “moved on from her restaurants.”
“For the past season, they’ve been trying to minimize her contact with the show. That’s Bravo’s doing. That’s nothing to do with the cast,” they revealed. “So people are perceiving that to be Lisa distancing herself, and it’s not. It’s the other way around. It’s the show trying to distance itself from Lisa.”
Would Another Season of Vanderpump Rules Work Today?
Aside from letting Lisa Vanderpump go from VPR, Bravo has also considered axing the show for good. Since the Season 11 reunion, the group’s dynamic has not been what it once was. Tom Sandoval is reportedly loathed by his co-stars, excluding Tom Schwartz. Scheana Shay’s friendships with some of the women are fractured. And for the show’s biggest star, Ariana Madix, she’s booked, busy, and living her best life.
Recently, Lala Kent discussed her relationship with Ariana, saying the two didn’t “have one.” Additionally, she revealed that a reconciled relationship between them would “never happen.”
The pair bumped heads repeatedly throughout the previous season, and during the reunion, their beef reached an all-time high. Ariana tearfully expressed how hurt she was by Kent’s statements on the show, which undoubtedly led them to a point of no return.
Ariana also spilled a little tea about their friendship in September 2024. “I haven’t been in touch with Lala at all,” she said at the time.
With too many broken relationships and massive paychecks, it’s understandable why Bravo is having trouble moving this show forward. No one has made an official statement, but if Season 12 is the last we’ll see the VPR cast together, they better bring it.
