The Osbourne family is not standing with the Menendez brothers; at least, that’s the stance of two famous members. Sharon Osbourne and her son Jack recently gave their insights on Erik and Lyle Menendez’s possible release. The matriarch and her son stressed they were against the brothers’ release from prison despite their nearly 35-year stint.
When asked why they did not support the siblings’ freedom, Sharon emphasized that they killed their parents. As for the alleged abuse the brothers claimed they suffered, the former America’s Got Talent judge wasn’t buying it. She noted that if Erik and Lyle could murder their parents, they could have used their wits to escape. Jack echoed similar sentiments about the brothers’ alleged abuse, saying:
“If it did happen, it sucks. It’s terrible, but shotgunning your parents in the face numerous times…Murder is murder.”
The Osbournes weren’t alone in their thoughts, with Judge Judy refusing to comment on the Menendez brothers’ case. Reporters spotted her at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she claimed to have nothing nice to say about them. Erik and Lyle hope to be released by Thanksgiving, and a court hearing has been scheduled. They would either be resentenced or have their convictions changed, opening doors to their possible freedom.
If the hearing fails, TMZ shared the Menendez brothers plan to petition the California Governor to commute their sentences. Judge Judy, Sharon, and Jack Osbourne might not be on the siblings’ side, but they have a growing fanbase.
Fans Pray for the Menendez Brothers’ Upcoming Hearing
The Menendez brothers received the love of many on X after Erik’s wife, Tammi Menendez, penned a sweet post. “I will pray the resentencing Judge Ryan believes that they have,” she . Her words sparked similar sentiments, with one user writing:
“Everyone – Pray for Judge William C. Ryan BY NAME in your prayers. Ask God to fill him with compassion and reason so that he may be led to making the right decision to FREE Erik and Lyle IMMEDIATELY. All Power is the Lord’s!”
“Praying for these sweet men. They deserve only love and support from the world,” a supporter added. Unfortunately, these prayers did not stop the court from appointing a new judge for the resentencing hearing. We reported that Judge Michael V. Jesic of the Los Angeles County Superior Court took charge of the case. While he is not fans’ first choice, the legal umpire is renowned for being fair in his judgment.
Will the Menendez brothers regain their freedom? Only time will tell.
