More than two years after Johnny Depp won his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard, the lawyer behind his success is answering the question on everyone’s minds. Camille Vasquez finally addressed the romance speculations that plagued her and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor during their infamous 2022 trial.
Vasquez appeared on Extra to discuss the change from being an attorney to a celebrity lawyer. She described the experience as “very bizarre.” However, the most bizarre experience of it all was the dating rumors that followed their every interaction in court. Vasquez revealed that she learned of the speculations through her parents, but they believed her over the rumors. Setting the record straight, the powerful attorney told the interviewer:
“I would never. Let me just go on the record here: Never dated Johnny Depp. Never would date Johnny Depp. I think he’s a lovely person. … He’s not my type.”
Although she didn’t elaborate on why Depp isn’t her type, Vasquez recalled her first interaction with the Hollywood star. He left a surreal impression on her. She revealed that before their professional meeting, she had never watched him on the big screen. Not even as his most famous character, Captain Jack Sparrow. However, when they met, she instantly knew they were from two different worlds. In her words:
“I remember maybe after 30 [or] 40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember having an out-of-body experience and looking at him and thinking, ‘He views the world so differently than I do.’ Like, he definitely uses a different part of his brain; he’s such an artist.”
Is Johnny Depp In A Relationship?
This isn’t the first time the Latina lawyer has shut down dating rumors with Depp. She previously called the speculations “sexist,” saying it is unfortunate that it comes with the territory of being a female lawyer.
Vasquez isn’t the only member of Depp’s legal team to face dating rumors. Page Six previously reported that the Chocolat actor dated his attorney, Joelle Rich, who represented him in his UK libel trial against The Sun. At the time, Rich was reportedly separated but had yet to start the divorce process.
With Depp’s legal woes now behind him, the 61-year-old has allegedly found love in the arms of Russian model Yulia Vlasova, who is 33 years younger. In photos from July 2024, the pair were seen traveling together out of London Heliport. The rumored lovers looked super cozy while walking on the runway, rocking matching casual looks with the actor holding his guitar. Per sources, Vlasova and Depp met in 2021 and have been seeing each other “here and there” since. Before their outing, they were photographed at a concert in Prague. In images, Depp was seen planting a kiss on the model’s cheek. However, neither party has confirmed nor denied the reports of a romantic relationship.
