After heavy anticipation and preparation, the 2024 presidential elections are finally here, and all eyes are on Melania Trump. The former first lady — and possibly second-time First Lady — showed up with her husband, Donald Trump, to cast their votes. Despite Donald being one of the major contenders, Melania barely participated in his campaign, only showing up at his rallies a handful of times. However, now that she has shown up when it matters, fans are convinced it is a doppelgänger and not the true First Lady.
Donald and Melania cast their votes on Tuesday at a polling unit in Palm Beach, Florida. The couple arrived at Morton and Barbara Mandel Recreation Center as a united front, surrounded by a team of bodyguards. As expected, Melania pulled up in style wearing a black-and-white polka dot mid-length button-down dress. The Dior number featured a belted waist and was paired with black pumps. The Slovenia native accessorized with giant square-frame sunglasses which completely covered her eyes. Her blonde hair was styled in a center part with loose waves. Donald, on the other hand, opted for his usual style of navy blue suit sans tie. He finished off the look with black shoes and a red MAGA hat.
Although the former first couple was far from affectionate during their appearance, Melania proved to be the supportive spouse. She stood by the convicted Republican candidate as he discussed the elections with reporters. Donald boasted of his success, arguing that more Republicans would vote over Democrats, sealing his seat in the White House.
“It looks like we have a very substantial lead. It looks like we have many more Republicans voting today than Democrats. If you have a lead and we have a bigger vote, that means you are doing very well,” he bragged.
Donald Trump Accused of Parading ‘Fake’ Melania Trump During Elections
However, throughout the interaction with the press, Melania Trump barely removed her sunglasses even when questions were directed at her. Per Daily Mail, she only answered a question about how she was feeling. “Very good. Thank you,” she replied. Videos of Melania during the day have since circulated online, and eagle-eyed fans believe it isn’t the real First Lady behind the cameras.
“Doesn’t look like her. Has he hired a double? That would just be the latest fake dimension of Trump’s life,” one comment read.
“That’s not Melania. This is insane,” a fan wrote on X.
“It’s really not. When she smiles, it’s all wrong. (And Melania doesn’t smile that much,” agreed a third fan.
“It’s so unreal. No other politician in U.S. history would be able to parade around a fake wife Weekend at Bernie’s style and get away with it,” another fan observed.
“A real-life deepfake,” a fifth fan declared, to which another replied, “Yup, that’s a fake Melania. The real one’s probably on a plane with the kid.”
There is no proof that a doppelganger represented the former first lady. However, fans suggested that Melania was too smiley during her election day appearance — something she never is. Such was the case during her surprise July appearance at the RNC. The former model notably dodged her husband’s kiss during the final night of the event, where he was declared the official candidate for the Republican party.
