General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn is fuming over Donald Trump’s election victory over Kamala Harris. The actress is passionate about politics and expressed her dislike for Trump on social media. So when the former President pulled off an unexpected win last night, the soap opera star quickly tweeted her thoughts.
The Presidential race between Trump and Harris was one everyone was watching. Although many predicted Kamala would make history by becoming the first female President, Donald won with 277 votes.
As the news channels declared Trump the next President, Grahn took to X to voice her disgust at the results. In a series of now-deleted tweets, the star blasted voters.
”We are a sick F****** National of sick f****** Americans,” the actress wrote in her first post.
”Trumpers. F*** around and fond out. I hope you suffer. #ElectionDay.”
She then ended her rant by suggesting it’s time for a move. “We are choosing Ireland. We can start a Daytime show there.”
Nancy Lee Grahn Plans to Delete Social Media After Donald Trump Backlash
Grahn has always been outspoken when it comes to her political views. Days before the election she gathered her General Hospital co-stars for a video showing their support for Harris. Then on Election Day, the actress and her daughter posted a video mailing off their ballots and endorsing Kamala for President.
While the star usually lets other people’s opinions slide, her tweets last night struck a nerve. After blasting voters, Grahn received harassment from fans, which caused the actress to make an important decision.
Early Wednesday morning, the Daytime Emmy winner tweeted she was leaving social media.
I have done all I can do. I will be deleting all my social media in protection of my daughter. I’m so sorry. May God help us all.
Nancy’s loyal fans offered words of encouragement, and the actress promised they haven’t heard the last of her.
When one follower asked what platforms the star would be moving to, Grahn replied, “Threads and blue sky.”
Another fan begged the actress, “Please don’t leave Twitter.”
But Nancy is steadfast in her decision. “I’ll be on IG. This platform is no longer a safe space.”
The election and the aftermath has divided the country and brought out the worst in everyone. Maybe Nancy Lee Grahn has the best idea of taking a break from social media.
