Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia‘s divorce is reaching deplorable lows. The estranged couple reached their breaking point in August when the Russian choreographer was arrested on domestic violence charges. Although the charges were later dropped, it didn’t stop Garcia from pulling the plug on their marriage.
In the latest update of their contentious divorce battle, the DWTS dancer is leveling damaging accusations against the WWE star. Per court documents, Chigvintsev blames Garcia for tampering with his source of income after allegedly lying about the abuse. Recall that after the arrest, he wasn’t called back for season 33 of Dancing with the Stars. Since joining the reality show in Season 19, he has returned for each year until now. According to Chivintsev, it is all his ex-wife’s fault.
“I normally start jobs in November and it goes for 20 weekends. After the mug shot and the arrest based on her false allegations, I was taken off the website faculty list resulting in loss of over $100k in income.”
In addition, the 42-year-old alleged he no longer receives revenue from social media promotion — something Garcia still enjoys from her undamaged career. “She was more worried about her career when she lied to the police than mine,” he lamented in the documents obtained by The Daily Mail. As a result, the choreographer says he can no longer afford his rent and wants Garcia to fork out some money. “I was kicked out of the home,” he explained.
Artem Chigvintsev Claims Nikki Garcia Is Abusive And Has Anger Issues
Further in the filing, Chigvintsev dispelled the notion that he was the abusive one during the incident in their Napa Valley home. He alleged that the Total Bellas star “is the one with the temper,” who was “yelling” and “pursuing” him. Recalling what went down that fateful day of August 29, he wrote:
“It is further a lie that I was growing increasingly angry, snapping at her, and yelling. I was not violent with her and did not violently grab or yell at her.”
Chigvintsev revealed that a fight broke out because of an argument over his surgery plans. He said he was due for a procedure, but Garica, who was supposed to stay with their son, booked a work gig in New York. After a lot of back and forth, he decided to stay back and postpone his surgery. He claims the retired wrestler said, “Her work was more important than my medical procedure.” However, Garcia came around at the last minute, changing her mind, which inspired the fight. “I have texts to prove this,” Chigvintsev alleged before adding, “She abused me, not the other way around.” Garcia has yet to respond to her estranged husband’s request, but things aren’t looking good.
