After completing your training as a new soldier, your next task is to get stronger and level up. The most straightforward method is to fight all enemies nearby, but you can also gain a ton of EXP by completing side quests. One of the first missions you can accept in Brighter Shores is The Obelisk quest. This mission will allow you to obtain a powerful sword while exploring new areas in the city. However, things can get quite confusing since the town areas are large and interconnected.
Brighter Shores The Obelisk Quest Guide
You can start The Obelisk quest in Brighter Shores by speaking with Commander Hackett. The man will be standing on top of the city wall above the Town Gates. This area is located on the eastern side of the map, and you can follow this route:
- From the Training Ground, head south to Town Square.
- Head east and enter Old West Street.
- Pass through Old Street East to reach Town Gates.
- Head north to enter the North Wall and climb the stairs.
- Walk south to speak with Commander Hackett.
The man will offer you some new swords that he has just gotten from another city. Unfortunately, the key to the chest is stolen by a goblin. You must beat this enemy, but be careful since it is at Level 10. I managed to win at Level 4, but my character was dying at the end of the battle.
How To Fix Hopeport Obelisk
Your next goal in The Obelisk quest is to find the Hopeport Obelisk so you can tune the swords and equip them. To find this location, you need to return to the Town Square. Then, head west to reach Brannof Boulevard and then walk south to find the Hopeport Obelisk.
You need to examine the magical tool to discover that the thing is broken. Channette will tell you to find a missing piece of the Obelisk on the river. To get that item, you have to go to Wilhope Crossing by following this path:
- Return to Town Square and head south.
- When you reach Eel Street turn east.
- At Wilhope Crossing, look north to find the missing piece.
Once you have found the missing piece of the Hopeport Obelisk, you can return to the magical tool location and try to fix it. Unfortunately, something is still wrong, and you need to find an expert to decode the instruction tablet. You need to talk to Naybeth, who lives near the Town Gates.
The man will give you the required four sigils that you need to place on the stone pedestals around the Hopeport Obelisk. Just examine the tablet again if you forget the sigils’ correct position. Once that’s done, you will summon a Cryoknight.
The mage cannot use their magic to fix the structure since they’re suppressed. Your last task is to return to the Training Ground and speak with Anjay. The man will solve the issue, and you can finally tune the swords at the Hopeport Obelisk. To finally complete The Obelisk quest, you must speak with Commander Hackett again at the Town Gates. Here’s the list of rewards you will get:
- Unlock the Hopeport Obelisk
- Uncommon Wall Guard’s Sword
- Guard EXP x10,600
