Billie Eilish‘s thoughts about Donald Trump haven’t changed despite his triumph in the 2024 presidential election. The Bad Guy singer did not hide her distaste for the president-elect hours after his victory during a concert. She got emotional while addressing the crowd on Wednesday night, seated on stage with an acoustic guitar.
Although Eilish did not mention Trump by name, she referenced his sexual misconduct lawsuits and, of course, his presidency. Eilish started her speech by confessing she did not want to perform that night after Trump’s victory. However, she realized it was a privilege to connect with fans “in a time like right now.” On that note, she assured them they were in a safe and protected space before announcing a new song.
The singer explained she and her brother Finneas wrote the track years ago for abuse survivors. Eilish confessed that she had been taken advantage of in the past, noting numerous women had similar experiences. Using Trump as an example of men who prey on women, she said:
“Now a person who is a convicted… Let’s say convicted predator, let’s say that. God, my heart is beating fast. Someone who hates women so so deeply is about to be the President of the United States.”
Eilish added that she supported all the women in the world and dedicated her song to them. A fan shared the clip of her touching speech on TikTok, eliciting similar sentiments from social media users. Many described the young singer as a “girl’s girl,” while others applauded her bravery.
The Lovely singer has been clear about her stance on Trump since the presidential race started. She and her brother endorsed Kamala Harris in a video on her X page, imploring fans to vote. Eilish noted they voted for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, because they were fighting for reproductive freedom. She added that the pair would protect democracy and the planet. Her brother shared the same thoughts, slamming Trump’s “dangerous project 2025 agenda.”
Billie Eilish Opens up About the ‘Eating Issues’ That Affected Her Confidence
In October, we covered that Eilish had addressed her eating disorder in a candid interview. She revealed her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT tour differed from past tours because she once hated touring. The entertainer explained that touring brought her pain and discomfort, noting she always looked forward to its conclusion. She embraced touring as a temporary project until she realized it was a permanent part of her life.
Faced with the truth, Eilish was forced to change her mindset about touring. To achieve a new perspective, she learned how to cook, and the process helped her overcome her eating issues. “My mom is an amazing cook, and I thought I was a bad cook, but now people are like, ‘You can cook!’ It’s just that I don’t really know a lot of recipes,” Eilish said.
“I definitely am like, ‘Oh my God, I deserve this meal,'” she added about her cooking. Eilish first opened up about her body image issues in a 2021 interview. She recalled “starving” herself and using a weight loss pill at age 12. Things were so bad for Billie Eilish that she even cut herself over her body image. However, such days are behind the singer, who promotes body positivity among fans.
