Selena Gomez didn’t appear in the mood to show her face as she and boyfriend Benny Blanco enjoyed a low-key dinner date this week. The singer and actress, 32, cozied into Benny’s neck as she used her scarf to hide her face from the cameras, but with an A-lister status, she couldn’t hide from the paparazzi.
Hitting up Sushi Park in L.A. yesterday, Selena kept casual in a fall-friendly outfit, rocking jeans and a long coat while concealing her belly. Fans seeing the photos on Backgrid quickly referenced the “pregnancy talk” Selena recently made headlines for — in September, the Rare beauty founder bravely revealed that for medical reasons, she cannot physically carry a child. When one fan bringing the whole thing up used the word “pregnancy,” another appeared angered, saying that Selena clearly wasn’t pregnant on account of her recent reveal.
Selena Gomez Spotted On Sushi Date With Benny Blanco
Ditching her usual outgoing vibe, Selena appeared shy, looking a far cry from the above photo, where she posed smiling in a sparkly red dress ahead of the recent U.S. elections.
Swathing her curves in a loose-fitting pair of blue jeans, the Only Murders in the Building star kept comfy in a long blue coat worn open, adding a wintry brown scarf and Ugg-like shoes in cream. Walking through an indoor space and with producer Benny wrapping his arm around her, Selena snuggled up to her boyfriend, doing her best to shield her face from the chasing cameramen or women.
In a caption, Backgrid noted: “The duo kept a low profile as they exited the popular sushi spot, with Gomez partially hiding her face from photographers.”
‘Hiding’ Amid All The ‘Pregnancy Talk?’
Quick to reply was a fan saying: “I feel like this was staged bc of all the pregnancy talk. I don’t believe she’s pregnant.” Angered by the remark, another jumped right in to reply: “She already said she doesn’t want to get pregnant or can’t, due to high-risk pregnancy. Not safe for her health.”
This follows exactly what Selena revealed earlier this fall. Speaking to Vanity Fair two months ago, the “Love On” hitmaker said that it wouldn’t be safe for her or her child to be pregnant. The star, who suffers from the autoimmune condition Lupus, referenced her “medical conditions” while speaking to the magazine, saying that the situation is less than ideal, and that she’s accepted that she’s just going to have to deal with it as a fact.
Selena had, in a separate reveal, divulged her plan to adopt if she was still single at the age of 35. The statement appeared to be a retrospective one, with the decision made ahead of her 2023-commenced romance with Benny.
