Bronny James has officially been sent down to the NBA G League by the Los Angeles Lakers. However, despite the 6’2 guard not playing NBA games alongside his father, LeBron James, anymore, this could be the best possible scenario. James Jr. has struggled on the offensive end of the floor since college. Now, the young man will get a chance to work on his game without all the bright lights of the NBA shining down on him. Although, there was still plenty of shock when the news broke.

According to TMZ, ticket prices for the Laker’s G League affiliate team, the South Bay Lakers, have shot up since Bronny James was sent down. While many will see this as a punishment for Bronny’s poor play, this was actually the plan the entire time. It was reported after the 20-year-old was drafted that he would split time between the G League and the NBA. Although, there are still fans who are happy the guard got sent down as they believe that he doesn’t “belong in the NBA.”

The NBA World Reacts to Bronny James Being Sent Down to the NBA G League by the Lakers

The NBA world had mixed feelings about the Lakers dumping Bronny, and they took to social media to discuss it.

“Better for him. He’ll be able to get some more reps down there,” one said.

“He’s not even a G-League player, but okay,” wrote another.

Another fan stated, “They are not ready for the prince.”

Finally, one fan said, “Well, it’s about time.“

Fans had some very different opinions about James Jr. going to the G League. However, the comments were mostly negative.

Bronny being sent down was the plan from day one. After getting some real NBA experience, it is now time for the young man to work on his game. He needs to be ready for when the Lakers call his name once again. It seems James Jr. understands that he will not be a superstar. His role will be more of a support player or even a bench guy. Embracing that role is a huge step in the right direction. While teams need star players to win championships, they also need solid rotational players.

Bronny James has the opportunity to be a great role player for a champion-contending team. However, his development can not be rushed. The pressure from being the son of arguably the best basketball player of all time is not easily overcome. However, Bronny has done just that and is on his way.

The noise surrounding Bronny James since he was in high school has been as loud as it could possibly be. Now, it is really time for the kid to buckle down. The NBA G League has produced many fantastic basketball players. With the ticket prices up and more fans in the door, James Jr. should be in good hands.
