Taylor Swift has sparked backlash from her own fans on Instagram as her latest outfit garners negative remarks. The singer, 34, headed out for a night on the town in Manhattan on Friday night, and her boho-style dress didn’t go down too well.
Looking stylish in the wake of her high-profile Gucci dress look (seen above), Taylor channeled sundress vibes as she mixed stripes and tie-dye motifs, with this look coming courtesy of luxury British designer Vivienne Westwood. Photographed solo and without NFL player boyfriend Travis Kelce, Taylor was seen exiting her vehicle in her expensive dress and heels, but users on the IG feed breaking down her style weren’t sold. One fan even likened the Grammy winner’s look to “dirty pajamas.”
Taylor Swift Hounded Over Weekend Dress Look In NYC
Opting for a multicolor look, Taylor highlighted her fit and curvy figure in a waist-cinched, sleeveless minidress.
Rocking the Sunday Striped Cotton Dress and splashing a sweet $2,390.00 on it, the pop star flashed her legs in a washed linen skirt in faded blue and gray stripes, adding in earthy tones and reds for her structured bodice top. Wearing her sleeves off-the-shoulder for a cap effect, Taylor channeled retro vibes, completing her look with a red velvet pair of heels as she channeled the mules trend.
Sticking to her signature red lipstick finish, Taylor wore a discreet face of makeup, sporting her blonde locks tied back and with loose strands framing her face. The “Blank Space” hitmaker also went high-end with her $795.00 Aquazurra footwear while donning a vintage gold necklace retailing for over $12,000. Chances are, though, with her $1.6 billion net worth, Taylor wasn’t paying attention to the price tags.
Fans Say Dress Is Ghastly And Like ‘Dirty Pajamas’
It’s worth noting that fans following the @taylorswiftstyled account on Instagram are dedicated Swifties and tend to leave positive remarks. Unfortunately, here, users just couldn’t get with the singer’s fashion choice.
Over 390 fans agreed when one user replied: “Sorry but that is one of the ugliest dresses I’ve ever seen 😅 it looks like dirty pajamas.”
“Fr what is thissss, looks like a theater costume to me,” another said. Thinking that Taylor had actually pulled it off, but also disliking the look, a third jumped in to reply: “The dress is awful, but it actually doesn’t look bad on her.”
Taylor bucks the trend when it comes to endorsing brands. While she’s been the face of mega-brands including Diet Coke in the past, she is not currently signed to any designer labels.
Taylor was, however, reported to have possibly been paid millions for her September Gucci look, one seeing her wearing a monogrammed minidress for only a few hours while enjoying a date night with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis.
