After a challenging few months following her dismissal from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya Moore is ready to own up to her actions. The reality TV star has been in the headlines since the summer of 2024. After beginning the filming for Season 16 of RHOA, news broke that Kenya had been sidelined. At first, the reasoning behind her suspension was unclear. However, fans later found out it was due to her allegedly engaging in revenge p*rn. According to multiple reports, the former Miss USA was said to have shown inappropriate photos of newcomer Britt Eady. Bravo immediately placed the Atlanta veteran on pause while they completed a formal investigation.
After several weeks, the news came back that Bravo had cut ties with Kenya due to the nature of the scandal. She posted on Instagram in June 2024, thanking her fans for their support. At the time, she said many “false claims” were being spread. But did she confirm the rumors during a recent interview with Tamron Hall?
Kenya Wanted To Protect Her Daughter
During an emotional clip, Kenya Moore of The Real Housewives of Atlanta said she was ready to admit her wrongs. “Hindsight is always 50/50,” she said. “And if I could do it all over again, I believe the photos were very distasteful, and I elevated the situation.”
When Tamron asked Kenya if she was ready to take responsibility for her actions, the latter said she takes “full accountability” for “the things that I’ve done.” And to take it a step further, she said she was “sorry” for what she’d done.
It’s unclear whether Season 16 of RHOA will showcase Kenya and Britt’s showdown since Kenya departed the series in the middle of filming. Regardless, during her chat with Tamron, she explained to the watchers what caused her to go so low with Britt.
“[I was] protecting my child.”
Fans replied to Kenya’s comments, slamming her for being disingenuous.
“Revenge p*rn is not a move you use to ‘protect your child’ … what?” one poster commented.
Another user also chimed in, saying Kenya was only “sorry because she lost her job.”
All About Kenya’s Child Brooklyn
Real Housewives fans likely remember seeing Kenya’s journey to motherhood on the show. Since joining in Season 5, Kenya spoke candidly about wanting to get married and have children. Eventually, her dream came true, as she showcased her marriage and part of her pregnancy during later seasons. Although watchers didn’t see the birth on camera, Kenya’s daughter, Brooklyn, became a major part of her storyline. So, it’s understandable why she’d feel the need to protect her at all costs.
Since departing the show, Kenya has shared several adorable snaps of them together on Instagram. Most recently, the actress uploaded photos and videos of them in Kenya, where they enjoyed a nice safari ride. Additionally, the mommy/daughter duo recently became authors. In a social media post, Kenya announced her daughter’s new children’s book, Brooklyn Bound: Paris.
Only the future knows whether fans will see Kenya back on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. However, the way production companies and networks are cracking down following Bethenny Frankel’s reckoning … it doesn’t seem likely. But stranger things have happened in the land of Bravo. So, if NeNe Leakes can make a comeback hosting the red carpet for NBC, there’s likely a future spot for Kenya on the cast.
