The View is one of the ABC network’s popular daytime shows. Everyday fans tune in to see hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin discuss hot topics. Politics are an issue that’s always brought up at the panelist’s table. The ladies aren’t shy about expressing their dislike for newly elected President Donald Trump. But the show could be undergoing a shakeup that will change the group’s dynamic.
According to a report by the New York Post, producers of The View were making “major changes” after receiving “pressure from higher-ups.” Among the rumored changes are “bringing in new panelists that can bring in a pro-Trump perspective.”
A source tells the outlet that the show’s liberal opinions have ABC worried they’ll lose Trump viewers.
They are out of touch with America. For a show about different perspectives, The View doesn’t seem to have any when it comes to Trump. ABC bosses don’t want to alienate the pro-Trump demographic.
Source Claims The View Doesn’t Plan to Change Its Format
While adding a pro-Donald Trump panelist to the show would freshen it up, fans shouldn’t expect it to happen anytime soon.
A network source tells Fox News that reports of The View changing its format are “not accurate.”
The insider confirms that ABC is trying to win back the Trump demographic, but it won’t impact the daytime talk show.
”There is definitely a network-wide push and sense of responsibility to give a voice to the 75 million people who voted for Trump,” the source explained. “But The View didn’t have a pro-Trump voice for the entirety of his first presidency.”
The insider then cited Republican panelists who were anti-Trump.
Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman were both loyal conservatives, but both expressed that they didn’t personally support Trump. It’s no different this time around.
However, there is one slight change viewers will see. “Expect to see Trump officials invited on in 2025.”
Fans Wouldn’t Mind a Pro-Trump Panelist on The Show
Although The View has no plans to add a conservative panelist, it’s something they might want to consider. The one-sided political opinions is becoming a turnoff for most fans. On a Reddit thread, viewers expressed the show’s unfairness towards others’ opinions.
There is no balance, what exists is an enormous disconnect between this show and the American people.
Another fan wrote:
I’m disgusted by the election outcome, but I agree that the pro-Trump view should have some representation on the panel.
One commenter suggested a new name for the show:
It should be called The One Sided View!
While the current format has been successful, times are changing. The media has taken a hit following the election and one must wonder how it’ll affect The View.
