One of the Royal Family’s furry companions has taken her final breath, sparking a wave of condolences from fans. A statement from the official Royal Family page on X confirmed the death of Queen Camilla‘s beloved pet, Beth. The heartbreaking news dropped on Monday, November 18, but the cause of the dog’s death was not stated. The statement read:
“A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen’s much-loved companion from @Battersea_ Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire.”
The announcement was accompanied by pictures of Camilla and King Charles III spending quality time with the late dog. Given how happy the royal couple looked with Beth, her death must have been a painful pill to swallow. Fans echoed similar sentiments in the comments, penning their love and support for the monarch and his wife. Someone resonated with their pain, noting this was the price to pay for the “love and companionship” of animals.
Another shared a snap of Camilla and Charles posing with their royal pets, including Beth. They declared the heartwarming image would forever be their favorite picture. A third penned their condolences, claiming Beth must have loved the couple as much as they loved her. Phil Sledge, a dog photographer, wrote, “So sorry to hear about Beth. She brought so much happiness and comfort. Her memory will always be cherished.” Other fans prayed for Beth to rest in peace and for the royal couple to overcome their sorrow.
Queen Camilla Supported King Charles III Through His Cancer Battle
Just as the late Beth supported Camilla, the Queen supported the King during a challenging phase of his life. We covered how the monarch’s wife stood by his side amid his battle with cancer. Her son, Tom Parker Bowles, addressed her unwavering love for her husband in a candid interview in October. Tom stressed that the “terrifying disease” had affected the Royal Family; however, they all pushed forward despite their worries. As for how Camilla handled Charles’ condition, her son praised her resilience, saying:
“My mother is strong as well. She supports him in every way. I think it’s wonderful to have someone you love by your side.”
Tom added that he was “incredibly proud” of Camilla for defying her age limits. He noted that other people in their 70s considered retiring while “she never complains” about working. He echoed similar sentiments about his stepfather, praising Charles as a magnificent king. The British monarch’s cancer diagnosis was announced earlier this year following a medical procedure. Charles had undergone surgery for an enlarged prostate when doctors discovered the disease.
The King stepped down from his official duties to focus on his cancer treatment. However, he shocked many by returning to his role sooner than expected. Camilla also made his return smoother by filling in for him at royal engagements. The Queen’s supportive role continued in October when she traveled to Australia with Charles. The Royal couple attended a nine-day summit that forced the King to suspend his “weekly” cancer treatment briefly.
Hopefully, losing their beloved pet won’t affect King Charles or Queen Camilla’s health.
