Remedy Entertainment has revealed that Alan Wake 2 sales have crossed 1.8 million copies since the time of its release, and a few other interesting tidbits about one of its upcoming games, Control 2. The news comes by way of the Finland-based company’s Capital Markets Day results.

Although the studio is working on multiple games simultaneously, the only one we got information about is Control 2, which will have some action RPG elements, unlike the first game. That isn’t the end of Control-related news, as the Mac version of Control Ultimate Edition is also coming out on February 12, 2025, as announced by the company.

The first Control was just an action shooter with narrative elements, but the next one is adding RPG elements that should change the experience quite a bit.

On the other hand, Alan Wake 2 has done remarkably well in terms of sales after its release in October 2023. This is the ideal time for its second DLC expansion, The Lake House, which also teases the next Remedy Entertainment project.

Control 2 is being co-financed by Annapurna, and is being developed and published by Remedy Entertainment. According to Annapurna’s plans, the Control and Alan Wake IPs will make it to film, TV, and beyond. This also allowed Remedy to publish the game by itself and finally rid itself of publishers.

When this deal went through, Thomas Puha, the communications director at Remedy Entertainment, said that it meant a lot to the company, as it would allow it to make the game it wants to without any publisher pressure, and even extend the Remedy universe to other mediums.

Remedy Entertainment also confirmed that one of the upcoming games that is still in development is an online shooter set in the Control universe called FBC: Firebreak. It sounds a lot like a hero-shooter, and we all know how those are being received by gamers these days.
