A viral clip of shocking bodycam footage is making waves on Reddit. It shows aggressive parents viciously assaulting a school resource deputy after the officer had filed a battery charge against her son. The alarming footage culminates in the father stealing the deputy’s taser before being arrested.

The footage takes place in Deltona Middle School in Florida. The school resource deputy brings the parents into her room and tries to explain why she has cited their son as the “primary aggressor” in an altercation. As a result, the school resource deputy filed a battery charge.

The parents try to argue against the explanation, much to the deputy’s irritation. The father even dares to accuse the deputy of “failing the kid,” when he really should look in the mirror for the cause of his son’s bad behavior.

When the father starts to get aggressive, the mother and son initially attempt to pull him away. The school deputy dismisses them, telling them, “you guys can leave.” The father doesn’t, instead resorting to filthy insults, calling the deputy a “worthless lady.” As one commenter pointed out on Reddit, the family hardly seem surprised by the father’s outburst. “The dad gets aggressive and everyone else in the family reacts like it’s a day to day thing.” Sadly, it probably is given the father’s incredibly confrontational demeanor.

Sickened by the hostility of these so-called parents, the deputy repeatedly tells them, “You need to leave.” Finally, the mother snaps and seems to punch the deputy in an unprovoked attack.

What follows is a shocking brawl, in which the father appears to punch the school deputy, knocking her to the ground. The father gets hold of the deputy’s taser, prompting the law enforcement officer to order that he put it down. “Dude almost got shot grabbing the taser,” one Redditor points out. It did seem that the officer had to draw her firearm. Thankfully, the father is eventually handcuffed as the deputy calls for backup.

Apparently, the deputy suffered from concussion as a result of the vicious attack. Thankfully, it seems the father at least is now in jail, where he belongs. As one commenter suggested, “Maybe theyโ€™ll get a little break from dadโ€™s aggressive behavior when he sit in jail for a year or so.”

The sad thing is the mother behaved no better. It’s no surprise that the boy is charged with battery when he has those parents as role models. One Reddit comment sums the tragic situation up neatly: the “apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
