Regardless of who you are, there is never a good excuse to harm another person physically. It doesn’t matter if they’re significantly younger and stronger than you; there simply isn’t an excuse. Fortunately, since cameras are almost everywhere worldwide, some of these interactions can be recorded. That’s exactly what happened at a Little Ceaser’s drive-thru when an elderly boomer slapped a 17-year-old employee over some Crazy Bread. The whole thing was later posted to Reddit for the world to see.
The video, posted by ObjectiveAd6551, is from the point of view of a CCTV within a Little Ceaser’s business. It seems that the 71-year-old client ordered two pizzas and crazy bread, and when she didn’t receive the bread, she decided to insult the drive-thru employee and call him racial slurs. What makes things worse is that the boomer then asks the employe if that hurt his feelings. She slapped him across the face when he responded that it didn’t.
What makes things worse is how long it took for the woman to be charged with aggravated harassment based on racism charges. Even though police had video footage of the woman’s actions, they said that they couldn’t arrest her because they hadn’t witnessed the crime with their own eyes. Many commenters were quick to criticize this particular aspect of the story:
“Yo, WTF kind of defense is “officers didn’t witness it so cannot arrest.” They witness every crime ever in this precinct? “Sorry ma’am we cannot arrest that man for murder because we didn’t witness him doing so.” WTF”
Others were simply appalled that anyone would willingly be so terrible to another person.
“After she smacks him… she smiles. Like WTF is wrong with people. That level of “I did it and you can’t do anything about it’ entitlement smile is what is wrong with the world.”
I’m glad that the drive-thru employee got the justice that he deserved. However, it sucks to know that it had to happen at all to put away this elderly boomer, who appears to have done this many times in the past.
