Real Housewives fans everywhere have been wondering when the Atlanta iteration will return. The answer is still unclear. However, Andy Cohen shared that a new season is coming and also teased behind-the-scenes information about Kenya Moore‘s storyline.
In case you missed it, Kenya Moore was asked to stop filming Season 16 halfway through due to her involvement in an explicit photo scandal. Although the details around the explosive moment have been kept low-key, the basics have been revealed. Essentially, Kenya showed compromising photos of newcomer Britt Eady, and the network had to step in. Because she stopped filming, many wondered whether her storyline would be included in the upcoming batch of episodes. And according to Andy, the show’s executive producer, the answer is yes!
“You will see Kenya on the next season of the Housewives of Atlanta,” he said in a clip shared by Decider. “And that is certainly a part of what happened when we shot it. You will see that represented.”
Phaedra Parks Seemingly Shades Kenya Moore After Her Exit
Because Andy Cohen is the head honcho over at Bravo, he can’t say much about Kenya Moore’s exit. However, her co-stars can!
Phaedra, who is making her long-awaited comeback this season, commented on the news during Bravo Fan Fest in Miami, Florida. When asked what her take was, she said she didn’t have one because she wasn’t there. (Phaedra joins the cast halfway through the season.) However, she did throw a little shade.
“Obviously, I’ve seen all of the footage and, you know, the pictures. Um, it sounded very Kenya to me,” she said.
As many fans know, Phaedra and Kenya have never seen eye-to-eye. Their beef started during Season 5 of RHOA, and since then, they’ve never gotten on the right track.
The New Housewives Are ‘Outstanding’
Some RHOA fans might find it difficult to accept that Kenya won’t be on the show for the entire season. However, according to Andy Cohen, the new ladies are bringing it.
If you need a refresher, Season 16 will feature Porsha Williams, Shamea Morton, Drew Sidora, and Phaedra Parks, plus some “outstanding new Housewives.” In addition to Kenya’s foe, Britt Eady, fans can expect to see Kelli Ferrell and Angela Oakley. Also, Cynthia Bailey is back as a “friend of the show.”
One of the complaints over the last few years is that Atlanta has lost its spark following NeNe Leakes’ departure. But, as Andy continued, he teased that the new season is going to be what fans have been longing for. “The energy and humor and connectivity and sisterhood and drama is all there,” he said.
In a sneak peek of the new season shared by Bravo, fans can see Porsha going to meet with a divorce attorney. In the two-minute clip, the reality star showcased her humorous personality, good looks, and remarkable sense of style. And it got fans excited!
One user wrote, “Oh, the production got an upgrade. I’ll be tuning in.” Someone else chimed in, seemingly agreeing with their statement. “This is movie quality! I’m so ready for the new season.” A third user said: “The fact this was a two-minute snipper and Porsha already gave us two confessionals where the fashion is eating down is already telling me this is what I missed.”
It’s unclear when the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will air. But based on all the tea Andy and the cast members spilled about it at the Fan Fest, the Bravoverse is certain it’s going to be worth watching.
