After helping the Noontide faction obtain an Inductor, you will need to head over to a ward base on the southeastern side of the base. Once you get close to this area, you will hear another distress signal from a soldier nearby. Skif now has to enter the military base to find out what happened. The Chasing Ghosts quest is not the longest mission in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, but the lack of an objective marker initially may confuse some players.
How To Complete Chasing Ghosts Quest in STALKER 2
When you approach the Ward base from the Noontide faction base, you will encounter a dead end. Luckily, there is a hole nearby that you can use. Just head east, and you will see an anomaly covering a hole in the wall. Use your endless supply of bolts to deactivate the Anomaly before you can head inside to find several dead bodies.
While there are several corpses that you can loot, your target is Major Hryhorchenko’s body, which is leaning near the wall of the basement staircase. He has the key that you can use to enter the underground area. Ensure you are ready before heading in since you will encounter enemies inside. Here’s what you need to do next in the Chasing Ghosts quest in STALKER 2:
- Use the ladders to reach the basement area.
- When you reach the junction, turn to the right.
- Enter the room to your right and keep progressing.
- Defeat all the enemies within the chamber.
- Enter the door to your left and defeat more enemies.
- Inside the well-lit room, you can find a scientist’s corpse with a recording.
- If you follow the hallway, you can find Sergeant Nikintin’s body.
- Get the Azimuth Key Card from the corpse and climb up the ladder.
Be careful after you use the ladders to climb up to the surface. A sniper will be on the rooftop and will start attacking you. After getting past the fence using the trash bins, you need to head into the building to your west in the Chasing Ghosts quest. The attacker has planted several traps inside the building, so make sure you disarm them first.
After using the Azimuth Key Card to activate the system, you need to climb up to the roof to confront the sniper. Thankfully, there is only one enemy, so you should be able to take him down easily. Foma, the sniper, is fated to die. You can ask him some questions, but he’ll just give you extra information on the Monolith. Once you’ve killed him, return inside and install the Inductor.
You will then need to climb up to the roof to turn on the device. There is a ladder on the right side of the balcony. Once the radar is activated, you can hear a recording of a conversation between Faust and an unknown person. Sniper will send you some Coupons as a thank you, but the amount will depend on your difficulty settings. This is the end of the Chasing Ghosts quest, and you will automatically start the next mission, Dead Frequency.
