Madonna Celebrates Chosen Families Saying ‘We Are Born Into Families and We Create Our Own’

Madonna is feeling extra thankful this season with her loved ones by her side. She shared terrific Thanksgiving photos with her loved ones on Instagram with an iconic caption. While the Queen of Pop has been through the wringer this year, she still has much to be thankful for. The 66-year-old mother of six lost two family members this year, which she admits has put her life in perspective. 

The Instagram collage featured 20 iconic pictures of her 93-year-old father, six children, and her lover, Akeem Morris. The first group photo showed the beautiful star and her family sitting in a large green field close to a massive tree with red flowers. Madonna sat in the middle, next to her aged father. Each family member looked dazzling in their baggy outfits, especially Madonna, who wore black baggy pants, a black jacket, and a black fur hat.

On the particular day she got to share with her loved ones, Madonna reflected on the essence of family. “We are born into families, and we create our own,” the singer noted in her caption. Again, she wrote, “As time goes by, I am more and more appreciative of these microcosms of life that dance around me and teach me lessons every day.”

The Back That Up To The Beat crooner noted that this year has been devastating for her family. She wrote about losing her brother a few months after her father’s wife’s demise. Nonetheless, coming together as a family on this special day “was Medicine for the Soul.’ While some photos showed Madonna’s kids’ beautiful poses, they also highlighted the singer having fun. In some pictures, the singer sat beside her furry friend and in another, petting a dog and in another, she was going on a horse ride.

The Material Girl singer also included a snap of her and Akeem Morris sharing a warm embrace. With smiles on their faces, the lovers cuddled up to each other. The pair, who have been dating for a year, first met in 2022. Per Cosmopolitan, Nile Rodgers made the introduction; the rest is history.

Madonna’s Kids Rocked in Festive Prints

The Grammy Award winner rarely shares photos of her kids online, but she made an exception for Thanksgiving. They were last seen together in New York City during Mother’s Day in 2023. The kids, Lourdes Leon, David Banda, Rocco Ritchie, Mercy James, and the twins, Stella and Estere, looked terrific in their fall attires. The outfits ranged from denim to corduroy to checkered materials, which looked incredible for the season.

While the singer doesn’t see her kids as much as she would like, they celebrated her birthday in Italy in August. Also, they made appearances on the A-lister’s ‘Celebration’ tour that ended in May 2024. The hitmaker told W Magazine she feels best whenever she’s making magic with her kids.

Madonna had Lourdes in 1996 with her now ex-boyfriend, Carlos Leon. She married Guy Richie, and the duo welcomed Rocco four years later. 2005, they adopted David but soon split and finalised their divorce in 2008. In 2009 and 2012 respectively, she adopted her daughters, Mercy and the twins, Estere and Stella.
