It’s always been interesting to me how bold some people can be. I’ll write some Human Interest stories that make me cringe with second-hand embarrassment because I could never imagine myself acting the way that some people do. This time around, a woman was caught going to a shop that she had robbed the week before to go for it a second time. The store’s staff recorded the results and then posted them to TikTok.
The video is taken from one of the staff of the clothing store’s personal cell phone. In it, a woman is standing in the store talking to someone else on the phone, (who turned out to be her mom) discussing a way to pay the store back for her crime. The video then adds context to the situation, showing a clip of the same woman robbing the store last week. It appears that the store’s staff expected her to return. When she did, they cornered her and demanded that she pay back for the items she stole. Otherwise, they’d call the police.
The woman initially tries to lowball them, offering $200 for all of the stolen goods and her freedom. One member of the staff quickly named one of the items she had stolen. It had a price tag well above what she had offered. Instead, the store asked for $1,000 to which the woman, with the help of her mom, quickly paid. The video ends with the woman sheepishly walking away from the store, embarrassed that she was being recorded.
People in the comments were quick to express their disbelief at the store being able to get the money back, especially since it was in cash.

Personally, I’m glad that they stood their ground and asked for compensation. Ultimately, they have to cover the profits of her decisions. Judging by the security tape, the store isn’t very big, and likely has to pay a lot of expenses out of pocket. Her stealing from the store not once, but twice wprobably hurts them and the staff more than she thinks.
