LeBron James has had a fantastic NBA career. LBJ is arguably the best player to ever pick up a basketball. On top of that, he is a model professional athlete. LeBron has built his brand off of being a true professional. The King has had zero allegations of any kind or any other off-court distraction. However, James is pushing 40-years-old. Being 39 while in his 22nd NBA season is a crazy accomplishment for James. Although LBJ may just be slowing down.
According to The NY Post, before the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Miami Heat, LeBron James had made zero of his last 19 three-point field goal attempts. James has been scoring in bunches all of his career. However, recently, those numbers have been down. While LeBron has still been scoring in the double digits, he is barely getting there, with only around 10 to 12 points in his last few games. When asked about it, LBJ stated, “I just feel out of rhythm.” This has led some fans online, as well as former NBA player turned ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, to give James the business.
Lebron James May Be On His Way Out of the NBA
Perkins recently called out LeBron James, saying that it looks like this may be his last season in the NBA. Kendrick has made his ESPN career off the back of his extremely bold takes, especially regarding star players. It would seem that just because he is LeBron, it doesn’t mean he gets a free pass when he is playing poorly.
LeBron James and Kendrick Perkins have some history, as the two were teammates back in 2018. That Cleveland Cavaliers team would reach the NBA finals for a fourth straight time. However, due to Perkins’ age, he would get little to no playing time that season. Despite playing for the same team, it seems Kendrick is a true analyst and will not play favorites for LeBron.
LeBron James has accomplished many things in his long and fantastic NBA career. James has multiple MVP awards, four NBA championship rings, four Finals MVP awards, and many other trophies. James even brought the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers their first NBA championship after being down three games to one against the 73-9 Golden State Warriors. His most recent accomplishment was playing alongside his son Bronny James on the Lakers.
LBJ has left a huge mark on the game of basketball as well as created history for three different organizations. When the time does eventually come for LeBron James to walk away from the game of basketball, the sports world will most likely never be the same.
