On Sunday, December 8th, 2024, a civil lawsuit was filed that reveals a massive accusation made against Jay-Z. The rapper allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl back in 2000 at the MTV VMAs along with Diddy. Now, it’s no surprise that Diddy was involved, considering all the wild things that have been uncovered about him last year. We have, however, been patiently waiting to see who goes down with Diddy as more claims and accusations are revealed. It seems Jay-Z is on that list.
According to Daily Mail, the assault happened back in 2000 at a party after the Video Music Awards. Just after the civil lawsuit was filed, Jay-Z took to X to make a statement in response to the claims.
My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a “lawyer” named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.
No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
Jay-Z goes on to speak on how “these allegations are so heinous in nature” before stating that the complaint should have been a criminal one, rather than a civil one, and stating that “whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away.”
While the allegations are pretty severe, it seems several fans of the rapper still have his back, while some seem to think they can see through his defensive behavior. “So you spent all that time with Diddy and you’ve never seen anything and you don’t know anything is that what you are trying to tell us???? That’s what’s really laughable here,” said one comment. Another X user said, “Diddy said he was innocent too, then the video came out of him kicking Cassie. So, only time will tell.” The latter comment referenced a video that surfaced earlier this year of Diddy attacking his girlfriend at the time, Cassie, in a hotel while she was trying to get away from him; the video that started the more serious claims against Diddy.
Many users, however, quickly noted that Jay-Z had deleted the initial statement he posted, then edited it to add in the portion at the bottom. One user who noticed commented, “Not deleting it to add “I’m looking forward to showing you just how different I am.” It’s bout to get crazy, scary, spooky…” Another chimed in, adding “all this deleting and reposting… i hate to tell you but you’re still going to jail.”
It seems that Jay-Z isn’t in the greatest situation, given how close of a relationship with Diddy he used to have. Even though these claims are from over 20 years ago, it’s going to cause people to dig more and see what other incriminating evidence they can find on the rapper.
