During the primary mission of Zenless Zone Zero 1.3, we learned more about Section 6 and the members of this elite team in controlling the Hollow. Without going into too many spoilers, Yanagi exposes the only male archer of the team as somewhat irresponsible, lazy, and even a person who would look for any excuse not to work. At first, I attributed it to the fact that he and his teammates have a very demanding job, but Yanagi exposed his absences from work. However, the new demo shows that, in reality, in Zenless Zone Zero, Harumasa has a lot more going on and that his “laziness” is only a facade.
For the rest of the story, in which Yanagi is the protagonist, it seems that she takes on the role of organizer and even something maternal over her companions. Although Yanagi tries to support her team of friends as much as possible, she emphasizes that Harumasa misses many work days and may even fake illnesses to do so. Yet, in this Zenless Zone Zero demo, the video focuses several times on various prescriptions and medications with the name of Harumasa. There are even some very strange marks on the archer’s neck, which he hides under his collar. Also, in one scene, a peculiar substance is injected right where the marks on Harumasa’s neck are.
The video shows Harumasa’s lousy dream, emphasizing the Ethereals and how he could be closely related to them. In the final part, Harumasa transforms into one of the Hollow monsters, plus a text on his cell phone says, “Congrats on making it this far.” So, there are many hints that Harumasa could have been the subject of Ether’s experiments or that, as a child, he ended up trapped in a Hollow. However, we may not discover this until the Version 1.4 mission, so we must wait for more information.
