50 Cent is showing Jay Z no mercy online following allegations that he raped a 13-year-old girl. On Monday, December 9th, 50 posted a shady remark on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Ok, I don’t know what’s going on, but are we gonna still have the Super Bowl?” he wrote. “I’m just asking for a friend.” The tweet is in reference to Jay’s music company, RocNation, which schedules live performances for the NFL.
This all came after Sunday’s shocking news that Jay Z was being accused of raping a 13-year-old. The lawsuit, filed by lawyer Tony Buzbee, claims that Jay raped a minor in the year 2000. According to the suit, this occurred during a VMAs After Party. In fact, it’s the same lawsuit filed in October 2024 accusing Diddy of the same thing. It was refiled in December to include Jay Z.
50’s post on X isn’t the only shady remark the rapper has made recently. In an Instagram post captured by TMZ, the “In Da Club” performer went even further after seeing Jay at Disney’s Mufasa premiere. “Jay said, ‘They said I [raped] a kid, everybody get dressed. We going to see Mufasa.’ LOL.” He deleted the picture shortly after.
Is Jay Z Concerned About 50 Cent’s Shady Comments Online?
This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has come for Jay Z in a post online. Since Diddy’s legal battles began, 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has been dragging both of them through the mud. In May 2024, Jackson shared a photo of Jay online, saying the rap legend was in “hibernation.” He continued, saying the performer would not be stepping outside “till this sh*t with Puff blow over.”
After news that Jay was being included in the new lawsuit, many fans assumed he’d stay out of the public eye. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Last night, Jay stepped out alongside his superstar wife, Beyoncé, and their daughter, Blue Ivy. Together, they appeared on the red carpet for Blue’s movie debut in the Disney film Mufasa.
Fans reacted to the photos on social media, saying the Carters looked completely “unbothered.” Someone else referenced their group picture, saying, “Sometimes, you gotta pop out and show people.” However, the comments weren’t all positive. A few onlookers wrote under @TheShadeRoom’s Instagram that the First Family of Music looked “uncomfortable.” Another person commented, wondering why “they got Jay at a kid’s event with the charges he’s facing?”
In case you missed it, Jay responded to the claims in a statement on Sunday, December 8th, 2024.
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away.”
Tony Buzbee Being Sued by Former Client
According to TMZ, Tony Buzbee, the lawyer suing Jay Z, allegedly has a questionable past of his own. In court documents, one of Buzbee’s former clients claimed he was issued payment from his job. However, the money went to Buzbee’s law firm, which then loaned the client chunks of money with a high interest rate. Although they’re not connected, the filing sounds similar to Jay’s, who says Tony was attempting to blackmail him. “I will not give you ONE RED PENNY,” he wrote. But it doesn’t end there. Meghann Cuniff, an independent reporter who gained a following during Megan Thee Stallion’s case, recently shared another interesting detail. According to Jay’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, a woman contacted his office to share about their experience working with Tony. “When the woman declined to adopt the version of events proposed by members of the Buzbee firm, she was summarily dropped as a client.”
