Carmen Bryan, who dated Jay-Z back in the nineties takes a clear stance on the ongoing rape allegation linking him to Diddy, referencing his Monster lyrics. The hip hop mogul became the latest celebrity roped into disgraced rapper Sean Diddy Comb’s sexual abuse scandal after an undisclosed “victim” accused him of raping her, alongside Diddy when she was only thirteen. The rap mogul came forward to deny the rape allegations via a social media post, sparking divided opinions among fans. However, one person who knows the crooner on a more personal level is sharing her take on the subject, referencing a past open confession where the rapper referred to himself as a “rapist.”
Taking to her Instagram stories, Carmen Bryan, who once took in for Jay-Z during their nine-year affair shared a cryptic message seemingly slamming those defending the rapper amid his rape allegation. In the post, the 52-year-old wrote,
“These days, people don’t defend what is write, they defend who they like@ And that’s why we call you ‘groupie.'”
Carmen Bryan Remind Fans of Jay-Z’s Rape “Confession”
If her stance in the child abuse scandal wasn’t clear enough, Carmen Bryan doubled down on her verdict in another post highlighting Jay-Z’s lyrics from the Kanye West song, Monster. She shared a screenshot of the lyrics which read,
“I still hear fiends scream in my dreams. Murder, murder in black convertibles. I kill a block, I murder the avenues, I rape and pillage your village, women and children. Everybody wants to know what my Achilles heel is…”
Carmen highlighted a few lines in the screenshot, where Jay-Z appeared to brag about “raping and pillaging children.” This isn’t the first time Jay-Z’s ex, who describes herself as the “hip-hop Helen of Troy” in her memoir It’s No Secret, has publicly slammed the rapper, whom she admitted to dating in her book. During a 2017 interview, Carmen also admitted to falling pregnant for him and miscarrying the baby. Their affair, which happened while she was still dating Nas, birthed the decades-long rift between Carmen and Jay-Z.
The rapper famously sang about their secret relationship in his 2004 track, Is That Your Chick, rapping about stealing another man’s lover, and having sex with her in a jeep. Carmen admitted to losing all respect for Jay-Z in the aftermath of the track. Having experienced firsthand the burning implication of Jay-Z’s lyrics which held true in her case, it isn’t surprising that the 52-year-old would believe that lyrics from his other tracks which appear to be open confessions like his “raping” claims also had elements of truth. As for how much of Jay-Z’s lyrical confessions on Monster hold true as his rape allegations prevail, time will tell.
