It looks like the Paul brothers are quickly becoming a ludicrous business venture for former combat sports champions. This time around, we might see Conor McGregor trading blows with none other than Logan Paul after the Irish MMA athlete agreed to the fight. McGregor’s announcement came hotly after his rather controversial sexual assault case in which he lost.
Conor McGregor (or his team) recently took to X/Twitter to dispel the rumors of his fight with Ilia Topuria. The MMA fighter then clarified that he agreed to the Ambani family’s deal to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition match in India.
Afterward, Conor McGregor seems to have bigger plans for his MMA career as he’ll then be returning to the Octagon to fight again, presumably after the Logan Paul fight if it goes through. Sadly, there’s no date yet for the upcoming fight with Logan Paul and it’s also not confirmed yet since Logan Paul hasn’t revealed what took place on his end.
It’s worth noting that Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in the Octagon since 2021 after suffering a debilitating leg injury, resulting in his loss. Since then, McGregor has appeared in movies, most notably alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the Road House remake.
Conor McGregor is Still Looking to Appeal His Sexual Assault Case
Earlier in the year, at the end of November 2024, Conor McGregor was involved in a sexual assault case where a woman named Nikita Hand accused the MMA fighter of raping her while she was intoxicated. McGregor was found guilty and the Dublin High Court ordered him to pay €250,000 ($264,000) to Nikita Hand.
Still, McGregor announced that he will appeal the case though he hasn’t filed anything at the time of writing. For now, it appears McGregor is looking to revitalize his fighting career after losing so many brands and advertisers who have since steered clear of his image after the sexual assault case.
Meanwhile, some fans are skeptical of McGregor’s plans, predicting the fight to be ‘fixed’ where McGregor will intentionally lose Logan Paul for a larger paycheck. Similar sentiments and speculations arose before, during, and after Mike Tyson’s fight with Logan Paul’s brother, Jake Paul.
Mike Tyson reportedly took home $20 million for losing to Jake Paul, and such earnings might have attracted other combat sports athletes and smaller influencers looking for a big payout.
