The Megan Thee Stallion versus Tory Lanez legal scuffle has sprung a new branch. Despite the latter already being in jail, accusations are flying. On Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, Megan The Stallion, real name Megan Pete, filed for a restraining order against Lanez. Fans can recall that Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, was convicted of shooting Megan in the foot in 2022. Apparently, the raper found other ways to mess with Megan despite his current living situation. According to the Savage rapper, Lanez has been using several hip-hop bloggers to harass her constantly.
According to the petition which read, “Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Ms. Pete, Mr. Peterson continues to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization.” The Houston rapper claims that prison call logs at the California Correctional Institution will prove her claim. As mentioned by Pitchfork, the petition also mentions the expiration of the previous order meant to prevent harassment. It suggests that this loophole can be exploited to terrorize victims further. With this restraining order, Megan aims to stop Lanez from contacting or bothering her, including via third parties.
At the top of the list of bloggers involved in the harassment is one Megan is currently suing, named Milagro. Megan alleges a “conspiratorial relationship” between Lanez and Milagro, nee Milagro Elizabeth Cooper. And to support this claim, she references a phone conversation between Lanez and his father, concerning payments to Milagro. Although she originally sued the blogger in October, per PEOPLE, she “amended her complaint” to include the phone call logs. Also added to her lawsuit are tweets from Milagro, which claim Lanez did not shoot Megan.
Speaking on the call logs, the filing reads,
“In these prison calls, Mr. Peterson’s father—when he thought no one was listening — asked his son about payments to Ms. Cooper for her harassment of Ms. Pete: ‘How are they ever going to prove something like that?’” Mr. Peterson responded, ‘Exactly.’” To continue the filing also reads, “Instead of denying that Ms. Cooper has been paid, they question how Ms. Pete uncovered their conspiracy.”
After getting news of the lawsuit, Milagro took to her X account to put out a statement. She tweeted,
I don’t feel the need to react emotionally to internet fodder. I don’t need to prove a thing to the court of public opinion. The truth will be in black and white and filed with the courts, not the blogs.”
In the October Lawsuit, Megan described the alleged targeted harassment she got from bloggers as “Unacceptable behavior.” The restraining order petition also highlights some of the effects of the alleged harassment. It has caused Megan “Severe emotional distress and reputational harm.”
Megan Thee Stallion’s Earlier Lawsuit Against Milagro
The October lawsuit Megan filed against Milagro contained some serious allegations. Per Teen Vogue, the civil lawsuit accused Milagro of “[Performing] Mr Peterson’s public bidding to denigrate, belittle, insult and spread false statements” about Megan. It alleged that Milagro shared a disturbing, deep, fake video of Megan. The “doctored” clip showed Megan “engaged in sexual acts without [her] knowledge or consent.” The suit refers to a Florida statute that prohibits the promotion of “altered sexual depictions.”
In addition, the suit accused Milagro of “intentional infliction of emotional distress,” cyberstalking, and “invasion of privacy, false light.” In an X post, Milagro responded, saying, “Countersuit gone go crazy.”
