Blake Lively‘s family is standing by her side and supporting her narrative about Justin Baldoni‘s alleged misconduct on set. The actress and her It Ends With Us co-star first sparked feud rumors months earlier during the movie’s promotion. The speculations became a reality when she sued the actor for several offenses, including being sexually inappropriate.
Following the lawsuit, the Gossip Girl star’s sister, Robyn Lively, addressed the incident on Instagram, slamming Baldoni’s alleged actions. She highlighted a New York Times article covering the drama between the co-stars and urged fans to read it. “It calls out those behind the ruthless and nefarious smear campaign that aimed to take down my sister,” she explained.
Robyn implored fans to understand that their perception of celebrities from social media did not showcase their genuine selves. She stressed that many might believe they knew these A-listers, but they did not. She noted that she had fallen victim to such misconceptions and assured fans of her sister’s innocence, writing:
“But I do know my sister. She is one of the kindest, most honest, and loving humans I know. Blake isn’t a villain. She’s a mama bear to her core, a loving and supportive wife, a sister, a friend, and someone who worked her ass off on a film in abominable working conditions.”
Robyn acknowledged that “mistakes were made” during the marketing campaign; however, it was wrong to blame Blake. The Teen Witch actress noted her sister was not the “creative behind these decisions” and could not be held responsible. She concluded her message by expressing pride in her sister for handling “herself with such grace.”
Blake Lively’s Brother-In-Law Defends Her Allegations Against Justin Baldoni
Robyn’s husband, Bart Johnson, echoed similar sentiments about Blake’s allegations against Baldoni over the weekend. He shared his thoughts in the comment section of The New York Times’ Instagram post on Saturday, December 21. He supported his sister-in-law’s claims of a smear campaign, noting Baldoni’s PR team was “gross and disgusting but highly effective.” Johnson acknowledged that “mistakes were made,” and no one was without faults.
However, that did not change the fact that the “public got played” by Baldoni’s antics in his book. Johnson stressed that Blake was right, noting she filed her complaints during the film’s production. He also implied that others were displeased with Baldoni, alleging, “The cast unfollowed him for a reason.” As for those who criticized Blake for sparking the feud with Baldoni, Johnson slammed them as trolls. He argued that they hated her because of past mistakes, especially controversial interviews that painted her as “rude.” He sarcastically declared:
“None of us have ever been wrong or mean. Never. We should discount decades of good for those few bad moments. Glad the microscope isn’t on me every day of my life.”
The High School Musical actor also hailed his sister-in-law as a “girl boss” and his “hero” in another comment. Johnson first came to Blake’s defense after fans speculated she was responsible for the tension between her and Baldoni. US Weekly reported he hinted at a bigger problem, declaring, “The truth hasn’t come out yet. It’s going to.”
