However, the negative reports did nothing to slow down Williams, who has recently made more public appearances in great spirits. Now, her son Kevin Hunter Jr. is speaking out about her actual health status.
The young adult dished on his famous mom in a viral online comment. On Monday, Charlamagne Tha God of Breakfast Club radio dedicated an Instagram Reel to celebrate Kevin Jr’s graduation from Florida International University. The short clip detailed the ceremony, showing Williams being a proud mother. She was seen in a shimmery black gown, hanging out and chatting with family. The Wendy Williams Show host looked super lively, even standing up to cheer her son when he walked across the stage. She was also present at the after-party, having a good time. “This makes me feel ancient. Congrats @topfloor_kev for graduating from @fiuinstagram with a degree in Economics,” Charlamagne wrote in the caption.
Kevin Jr. responded in the comments, appreciating the gesture and giving a fresh update on his mother. “Thank you, fam! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Let’s get her home,” he wrote, adding:
“While I’m here quick update on my mom. She’s sober and wants to come home. We’re fighting to make that happen because isolation is killing her faster than anything else.”

Kevin Hunter Jr’s comment is far from what his mother’s guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, claimed last month. In court documents, the legally appointed guardian described her client as “an acclaimed entertainer who, tragically, has been afflicted by early-onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”
Morrissey’s claims, however, seemingly failed to reflect in Williams’ recent upbeat appearances, causing fans to suspect something is off. Now, with Kevin’s latest revelation, the demand for Wendy Williams’ return to her family has intensified.
“Wendy looks great, and she obviously thrives around her family. This is where she needs to be,” one fan observed.
