Despite getting married and their best efforts to make their relationship work, the Atlas actress filed for divorce on Aug. 20, 2024, in the Los Angeles Superior Court — although there was chatter that the relationship had been over long before this.
The divorce filing came as a surprise to exactly no one, but in the months that followed, fans have kept a close eye on Affleck and Lopez to see if there is any hope of a reconciliation. As of now, it seems unlikely, and both stars appear to be thriving and embracing the single life. However, the Christmas season can be a lonely and emotional time for many, and after finding themselves newly single, the holidays could be a time of mourning. However, this does not appear to be the case for the Argo actor, as a source told People he is “healthy, single and enjoying life.”
He will also not be alone during the holidays as he intends to spend time with his three children, Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel (whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner). “Ben is spending the holiday with his children and is excited to have Violet home for break,” the insider shared, noting how his eldest child, Violet Anne, would be home from Yale University.

Affleck and Garner have remained amicable since their split, putting the well-being of their children first. It is not unusual for fans to see photos of them as a family (despite being divorced since October 2018), and their holiday plans will include each other. Earlier this month, a source shed light on the relationship dynamics between the former couple. “Jen truly just wants her kids to be happy,” the insider told People. “She will continue to make sure that they spend time together as a family and include Ben.”
The source continued, “They have Christmas plans with the kids too. The kids enjoy when they all spend time together.”
It is unlikely that Jennifer Lopez will be spending the holidays alone this year. She also has two children, twins Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. In the build-up to Christmas, the star has been active on social media, giving fans a look at her stunning tree and even more gorgeous sparkly outfit.
