It has been nearly two years since Die Hard star Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. As the family continues to update his fans on his rapidly diminishing condition, it appears that recently, the actor has undergone another sad turning point.

For the past two years, Bruce Willis has been under the care of his family members: his wife, Emma, daughters Mabel and Evelyn; his three adult daughters, Rumor, Tallulah, and Scout; and his ex-wife, Demi Moore. The group of women has formed a united front and remains a stable presence in the actor’s life and day-to-day care.

The Sixth Sense star was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. FTD is a rare condition that causes problems with behavior and language as it progresses and impacts memory and physical ability.

FTD symptoms can be managed with medications and various therapies. However, unfortunately, there is no cure for FTD, and life expectancy ranges from 3 to 7 years following diagnosis.

As previously reported, the family has made it their mission to surround Bruce Willis during the holidays to make it a memorable time. However, Bruce’s condition seems to have declined, and the actor is now mostly nonverbal.

According to the Mirror, Bruce’s family states that “the joie de vivre is gone,” and his wife Emma said there is a lot of “grief and sadness.”

Bruce Willis’ Family Prepares For The Worst

Sources close to the family, Bruce Willis, reveal the family is going through a very trying time. They are spending as much time with him as possible. “Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good.“

The experience continues to bring the whole family even closer together. They admit that no one knows how much time Bruce has left. However, they understand the nature and the outcome of this disease. Being so, they’re committed to soaking up every moment they can with him.

During a CNN update, Demi Moore recently spoke about Bruce Willis’ condition. She states, “Given the givens, he is in a very stable place at the moment,” shares Moore. Recent reports reveal that the actor doesn’t get out much these days. However, when he does, he requires a team of caregivers to ensure his safety. Most days are challenging for the struggling actor.

It is heartbreaking for the family. However, Bruce Willis’ loved ones understand the disease has progressed. They are now at a sad point in time where they worry they may not have much more time left. The Willis family is determined to make the most of the time they have left together. “I’m not going to allow FTD to take our whole family down. Bruce wouldn’t want that,” states Emma Heming Wills.

That said, Bruce Willis’ family has vowed to work together and make each day with him as memorable as possible.
