Karen Huger has left Real Housewives of Potomac fans disappointed after skipping the upcoming Season 9 reunion. The official Bravo social media account shared the seating chart, which showed all of the Potomac ladies sans The Grande Dame. “More info to come soon…” the caption read. Watchers flooded the comments with questions about Karen’s presence immediately. “Wait. No Karen?” someone asked. So, what exactly is going on?
Why Did Karen Skip the Potomac Reunion?
In case you didn’t know, Karen Huger was arrested in the summer of 2024 for driving under the influence. At the time, the reality star didn’t say much about the case since she planned to take it to trial. She filmed Season 9 in its entirety, saying she’d be vindicated by her case’s end. However, a jury found her guilty of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify of address change in December 2024. With that also came a copy of her damning bodycam footage.
The incriminating clips feature the Potomac Housewife slurring her words, swaying from right to left, and getting confrontational with the Maryland police officer. “Do you know who I am?” she asked in one clip. “I’m Thomas Jefferson’s concubine,” she said in another.
Fans were more than confused about Karen’s decision to take her case to trial following the release of the BWC footage. However, many were looking forward to hearing her share her side during Potomac’s upcoming reunion. But, thanks to the seating chart shared by Bravo, that might not happen. Karen, who’s been a mainstay on the show since Season 1 aired in 2017, was a no-show.
Watchers Are Already Calling for Karen Huger’s Firing
As soon as Queens of Bravo shared the news that Karen skipped the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, it sparked major conversations among fans. “Wow. That’s honestly disappointing,” someone wrote. “Oh. She’s definitely not coming back next season,” another said. Others also chimed in, saying Season 9 would be Karen’s last as a Housewife. “Womp! She’s fired,” a user said on X, while another said she should be axed for ditching.
Porsha Williams from the Real Housewives of Atlanta also had questions about Huger’s appearance, writing, “Where is Karen?”
Will Karen Be Fired from RHOP?
Could Karen’s absence from the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion get her canned from the show next season? Possibly. Bravo has a long history of parting ways with cast members who skip reunions after an explosive season. Jacqueline Laurita was also let go from New Jersey after ditching, and Mary Cosby and Lisa Vanderpump were fired, too.
“Well, today, we are missing one of the Housewives who’s been with us since the beginning. Adrienne Maloof has decided not to participate today,” Andy Cohen said after a Housewife skipped a reunion in 2013. “This season was hard on Adrienne, as you all know. A secret about her family was revealed by Brandi [Glanville]. And from that moment on, Adrienne refused to speak directly about it. We know that frustrated you in the audience. It frustrated all of us too…” he said. “Adrienne won’t be here to tell her side of the story. Not only is she absent tonight, but she won’t be on the show next season,” he continued. “Adrienne Maloof’s final act as a Housewife was NOT showing up tonight.”
It’s unclear whether Karen will be back for Season 10. However, if Bravo is following previous years’ trends, fans should prepare to say goodbye to Mrs. Huger.
