Andy Cohen recently shared some details about Karen Huger’s storyline during the latest episodes of the Real Housewives of Potomac. In case you missed it, Karen was arrested during the summer of 2024. Maryland police locked the reality star up for suspicion of driving under the influence. She didn’t speak much about her case on the show; however, she teased that she’d be vindicated after trial. Unfortunately for her, though, the jury found the 61-year-old guilty. Later, damning body camera footage was released, showing the reality star slurring, stumbling, and displaying acts of aggression. During his show, Radio Andy, the Housewives EP spoke about Karen’s storyline for the last few episodes. “I will say, watching the back half of that season under the lens of what we know about Karen [is] fascinating,” he said.
Andy Says the Upcoming Potomac Reunion Is One of the Best Ever
Real Housewives of Potomac fans know that Karen Huger skipped the upcoming reunion to start her stay in rehab. But according to Andy, the gathering was still one for the Bravo history books. “I think it was the best reunion of the Housewives of Potomac either ever or since [Season 5],” he said. “It was so unexpectedly funny, but also, it really moved the needle in terms of story with a few people.” He continued: “It was very surprising.”
Fans Are Still Disappointed Karen Huger Didn’t Show Up for the Potomac Reunion
Although Andy Cohen teased the RHOP reunion would still be explosive without Karen Huger, fans are still disappointed the veteran ditched in the first place. “There was no excuse for Karen not to be there,” one person wrote on X. “She is literally allergic to accountability; it’s crazy.” They continued: “This all happened last year, so she could be there. She knows she would be in the hot seat.”
And fans aren’t the only ones with something to say.
Karen’s former co-star, Robyn Dixon, also slammed Huger over the outrageous body camera footage of her arrest. “If this is being vindicated, [then] I don’t want to see what being guilty is,” she said. “I don’t think those [who] are familiar with that person were shocked by what we saw,” Robyn said. “I know what I saw, I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s par for the course.’ Like, I’m not shocked.”
Karen Huger Will Be Sentenced in January 2025
Following Karen’s guilty verdict, her star lawyer released a statement through People. In it, he said they were “disappointed in the jury;” however, they “intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf.” The reality star is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29, 2025, and based on conversations about previous offenses, fans are worried she might actually serve jail time. “It was her second offense, and she took zero accountability in either situation,” one user wrote on X. “She made nothing but excuses; she will have a life lesson the hard way come Jan 29th.”
Karen, of course, isn’t the first Real Housewives star who has had legal issues. Shannon Beador from Orange County dealt with her own DUI during the latest season of the show, while Teresa Giudice and Jen Shah were both found guilty on fraud charges. Giudice served a year in prison; Shah is currently serving a six-and-a-half-year sentence.
