Mods and custom maps are one of the reasons why OG Call of Duty games are still filled with players. In fact, one of these games has recently become the best-selling CoD game in the whole franchise thanks to that. But did you ever think that Terminus Island, a Black Ops 6 Zombies map, become playable on Call of Duty: World at War? And hell it looks and plays even better than the original in some sense!
Call of Duty: World at War has a plethora of crazy Zombies custom maps modded by the fans, for the fans. We’ve got the Moon from BO1, weapon packs from different CoD games, and a whole bunch of other additions to World at War through mods. However, the recent addition of the Terminus Island from Black Ops 6 is quite intriguing.
The video above showcases the Terminus Island Black Ops 6 Zombies map in Call of Duty: World at War, and by the first glimpse, it looks spookier than the original. Thanks to the old movement system and the lack of sliding and tactical running mechanics, this iteration of Terminus Island feels way bigger than the one in BO6.
The map is a 1 to 1 recreation, but it has a limited playground. It doesn’t feature the underground lab, nor the islands scattered around. However, it’s got the BO1 guns, the OG Zombies crew, and a dark tone that makes it much more frightening. In fact, Terminus Island has a history with World at War even before this custom map was created.
There’s an official Multiplayer map in Call of Duty: World at War Multiplayer mode called Battery, which is exactly the Terminus Island we see today. Sure, the map design has changed a little bit and all the islands around and the underground lab in BO6 Zombies are unique, but the base of it comes all the way from this WWII game. And now that we can play a custom version of this map in WaW Zombies, Terminus Island has come full circle.
