Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has gone gold, meaning the game is ready for play and release way before its February 4, 2025 release date. That was back in December 2024. Recently, however, we’ve received a new update from the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2‘s devs where they celebrated one of the longest scripts ever for video games, only to be supposedly dwarfed by Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3 according to Larian fans.
Danny O. of ESO Danny recently took to Twitter/X to post a photo of himself next to the printed sheets of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2‘s script, which was supposedly 1.7 million words.
Some Larian fans chimed in and even Michael Douse of Larian Studios claimed that Baldur’s Gate 3 has a longer script at 2 million words though Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 “almost” snatched the Guinness World Record.
However, Warhorse Studios, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2‘s devs, had to correct ESO Danny. The script for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 actually tallies up to a whopping 2.2 million words, which is certainly more than enough to beat Larian Studios’ 2-million-word Guinness World Record for video game scripts in Baldur’s Gate 3.
That very well means Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is set to snatch the current Guinness World Record from Baldur’s Gate 3 for the “Longest script for a videogame“. Of course, there’s a lot more dialogue in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, around 10 percent more. You know how old English is, too flowery with too many bushes in which to beat around.
What’s even more impressive is how story-rich Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will be compared to its predecessor. The first game “only” had 800,000 words, and that could very well translate to at least double the amount of cutscenes or exposition.
